Isn't the Gplat wire just 316 SS wire?
It's SS wire but I think it's 317-L welding wire . I saw some 317-L SS wire on Amazon , 24ga round for jewellery making and wondered if it was the same thing . BK thinks not but it's the same designation , don't know if I should risk it or not , it's 1/4 the price of Gplat . Adam said they'd be carrying Gplat . I'm curious to see what the price will be .

I remember getting curious about the Rose some time ago, and thought it was too expensive. Now that I have the Estia and Erlkönigin, I may have to rethink that. I am primarily a dripper/bf'er, but tanks do have their place in my rotations. Besides, I'm either going to PIF or sell 2 of my three KFs that are just collecting dust these days. Man, I love/hate riding the wave of new technology. (I paid more than $5000 for my first CD-ROM burner and it was already 2X speed). ETA: And that gplat sounds like fun stuff.
I can't see the Rose bringing anything to the table that the Gus doesn't except as a way to maintain flavor while cutting juice consumption but it does bring a couple of things that the Erlk doesn't , you have more latitude with the build and the juice flow control . The Gplat 24ga has a little less resistance than 22ga Kanthal so it's good for gaining real estate on your wick coverage plus it heats up fast . It definitely has it's uses , too bad it started off as a scam .

Finally decided to build a coil on my KFL+ clone today, and it was a complete beauty. :)

Unfortunately, the base seems to be DOA. I can't get an ohm reading off it, and it won't fire. :(

Just created a support ticket with FT. I hope they answer.

What are you attaching it to? The KFL may not be making contact with your centre post.

Tried it on an iStick and MVP2 to no avail. Then even used it on various adapters just to make sure, but no dice. :(

It's a pretty straightforward device. Not much can go wrong with it when it comes to connectivity. Can you post a picture of your base?

I just compared both male ends from the KFM and KFL+, and the KFL's seems just a tad shorter. Maybe that's creating the connection issue you suggest. Which side of the base do you want me to photograph?

Your best bet would be a mod that has an adjustable centre post. Do you have one? Raise the post to where you know it's touching. If you can screw the KFL all the way down to the mod, there's a likelihood it's not making contact.

I'd say my centre pin sticks out about 1/2 mm below the thread section. See if you can unscrew the pin, put a small o-ring on the shaft in there and tighten it back up. As long as it holds the positive deck secure, you should be good to go.
