Thanks for the ratings, and extra info. Very informative. There should be no taste left in the Squape R in my opinion. Not after all you did to it. I wonder if you could put it in a cup, fill it with vodka, and add some flavoring to it? Let it steep in there for a few hours? The vodka will mix with whatever flavor is there, but if you add a flavoring you like, maybe DF, just enough to smell it. I know I am reaching here. But I want you to be happy with your clone. What a shame, all that work, and you aren't satisfied with it.
No such thing as being happy with every vape purchase . I have a Heron clone that's in my bone box , it produces excellent flavor , it's not pressure dependent , it can be rebuilt or rewicked without draining it but even with those points taken as a whole I don't really care for it . Other people love them but it just ain't for me .

So following Retic's advice, I built a vertical coil in the Rose v2 - 2mm ID, 30g kanthal, 8 wraps @ 2.4 ohm. Why I'm getting 2.4 is beyond me, it should be closer to 2. Anyways, it's working and PB is the test juice. Not bad, not bad at all. AFC is open full, juice control is about half way open - no dry hits so far at 9.5 watts. Making that vertical coil wore me out - time for an ol' man nap... :closedeyes:zzzZZZ
I'm gonna go with 28ga on the other Rose , the 26ga is taking a while to heat up , might try going down to 24ga at 2mm ID for S&G .

Unless you're really laying the wood to 26 gauge, I find it is just too lethargic in everything I use. 28 gauge was as thick as I could go. Of course, the P3 changes that but prior the 28 gauge is as thick as I could go even though I still preferred 30.

I went too many wraps on it , It's lagging at 15 watts , I'm gonna have to play with it to get what I want .

This darn Squape nasty taste is driving my nuts. I boiled it 2 more times today then put in a simple kanthal coil filled it with the strongest flavor I have (vanilla peppermint by VaporTrail) and that dang nastiness is STILL there. It's like a gross musty taste.

If anyone wants it I'll happily sent it on its merry way.

    Ugh!

I do not regret trying though, and I'm not terribly disappointed either.

That's weird that you can't get the funk out of it. Have you tried soaking it in alcohol?

Hey I finally built a coil that I like with Ni200!!

9 wraps of 3 strands twisted very tightly.

Wrapped on a 6-32 machine screw with just enough space that they are not touching.

Heating to 400 to 410 at most and running at 28w.

    The flavor is outstanding!

I haven't and quite honestly I'm over it. Im a busy person and I don't have time or patience for this kind of stuff. I don't mind the coiling and wicking and cleaning, but trying to get out a nasty flavor is far too frustrating. The next thing I'll do with it is put it back in box forget about it.
