SHHHHHHH GitMoe.....Padre wouldn't be happy about that :) I would though...

Red Wings are up 3-0 on Phoenix. GO DETROIT! Every year I hope for a Flyers v. Red Wings final. Last time that happened was '96 or '97 and Detroit got out the brooms... It would be a much better matchup this year...

I am a huge Caps fan, but their playoff history has been horrible. Up 3 games to 1 last year against The Habs and losing the series, Losing to the Penguins prior to that... the list goes on.

Tonight will be a huge indicator of how far they have come. Lose and the Rangers have the momentum, win and maybe overcome last years blunder.

I am pulling for the Flyers tonight and I dont think Phoenix has a chance. Could be some good games today!

The east second round could be great. If it ends up Caps vs Habs and Pens vs Flyers there will be a lot of good hockey to watch. Both of those series would have some history behind them. I hate to count out Boston but I just don't think they have enough scoring depth to beat Price and Montreal. If they do come out of that series, it will be on the shoulders of Thomas. Same thing with Buffalo. Miller is making them look like a better team than they really are. But, the Flyers have a history of making goalies look like superstars. Anyone remember Patrick Lalime and his 3 shutouts in a row?

The west is a little less exciting. It would be interesting to see Niemi win 2 cups in a row with different teams but I don't think the Sharks can overcome the Wings or Canucks to win the west. LA is done. Losing a game 6 to 5 after being up 4 to 0 is a serious confidence breaker. I don't think they will come back from that. The Couve is set up to send the reigning champs out early but I don't know if they can carry that momentum through 2 more rounds to make the finals. Nashville and Anaheim is a wash as neither of them is really strong enough to advance past Detroit, Vancouver or San Jose. Anaheim has the making of an underdog team like Montreal did last year. Selanne may have enough in the tank to elevate them over the Preds but without Hiller they don't have the goaltending to save their defense from lines like the Sedin twins.

Lots of hockey left to play!

You really bring up some great matchups in the East if it happens. I think it will too! My biggest worry is Buffalo right now. Miller is good enough to carry a team for a few games..series...

I was ready to consider last night's game against the Rangers a loss after NY scored 2 goals in 7 seconds to take a 3-0 lead. Happy to see the Caps come back and win in 2 OT

The only thing that was tough about it was the fact that the ref's pwn'd the game last night. That scuffle after the game...I'm surprised that none of the ref's got sacked after the horrible calls in the game last night. It's a bad sign when your guy gets jabbed in the face by the other teams goalie, then tackled by someone else on the team...and then is the one to take the penalty. Also when a defender covers the puck in the crease for the goalie and there isn't a penalty to go along with it.

Guess the Fly guys have to step it up at home now....(that's okay...after tonight...it's gonna be an ugly game on Friday)

Flyers taking a tough loss tonight. Miller was amazing for the Sabres. All my Flyer fan friends were pretty angry after the game. Red Wings swept the Coyotes! Bring on round two.

The refs did make some questionable calls and non-calls. But let's be fair, the Flyers have a reputation that makes refs call things against them. I know the Broad St. Bullies were back in the 70's but now the Flyers need to remember that fact.

The Flyers need to take the body more and slow Buffalo down. They have the size advantage (with the exception of Tyler Myers) and they need to use it. Make Buffalo a little afraid to play tight defense and free up some space for the shooters at the point. Then, of course, they need to shoot it which they are not doing. Getting Pronger back would help that situation a bit.

I guess I'm going to have to start a Thread on rodeo.

We don't have any ice here in East Texas to go chasing that little thing around with a stick.

And we usually leave that stuff to women that play volleyball too.

Your invited to come down here and watch Bareback Riding Champion Clint Cannon from Waller, Texas. Be sure to wear your big belt buckle and cowboy boots!

And bring a big smile!

Is that the excuse that the Dallas Stars are using for not making the playoffs? No ice? :)

The Flyers loss to Buffalo tonight is tough. That puts them in a bad place. With Pronger out and now Carter as well, they are going to have to dig deep to get through this round. Although, most analysts predicted Flyers win in 7 games so that may be where they are headed.

Chicago on the other hand is showing signs of life after the return of Bolland who has 4 points in his 2 games back. Chicago has outscored Vancouver 12 to 2 in those 2 games. That is not a typo. 12 to 2! The Hawks may be trying to imitate the Flyers from last year by coming back after being down 3 games to none. Boston would love that because people would stop talking about them losing that series.

Round 1 will be winding down soon!

I've never ridden in a rodeo. Sounds tough. I've played a bunch of sports though, and imo hockey HAS to be the hardest one I've tried lol. The first time I went out was brutal. Easily fell 20 plus times.......hard. Luckily we go out and drink some beers afterward, so we are sore and hungover for work Friday.

LOL, that entire post was to aggravate maureen, the one person in the world I love to pick on.

Believe me, there's no way anybody I know could do what those young men do on those ice skates!

Maureen must have gone out for one of those Friday night beers, she'll be along to blast me for what I said!!!

TT

I'm thinking the same thing; I bet Maureen is out at the bar tonight. She has no idea that you're back!
