.......it. My zna30 still auto restarts every time I press on the fire button. Using a brand new AW IMR 18650, 1.4 ohms, 18 watts. Does anyone have any idea why?

It's fine and stable at around 14 watts, but once I get to 18 watts and above it does that. Doesn't make sense since at 18 watts it's only drawing 3.7 A, which is well within the battery's discharge

Mine does that as well after I've used a battery for a while and still showing half battery power. Usually vaping around 17 watts

Ah. Interesting. Mine was a pretty fresh battery though (had 5 mins of vape time on a provari) not entirely sure if it's normal or if I should contact HoH about it

This is my second ZNA, hoh gave me a new one for guarantee and does exactly the same, my coils are usually .5 to .7 vaping from 17 to 24 watts, i know mike only recomend aw imr batteries, but I'm pretty sure the aw can't handle the output we are needing, if I remember evolve recommends 30amp batts (could someone confirm this please), that's the reason why I asked for what batteries are you using on your ZNA so I can know what battery fits, I'm thinking in the orbtronics button top but I would like to get some advice from you.

If I'm in 650 mode I just use my vtc4 and vtc5s.

That's the damned problem. I had 4 brand new vtc5, and none of them worked in my ZNA and I didn't wanna sand down the delrin. Using a button top converter added too much length and I couldn't completely screw on the bottom cap so I just gave it away.

I have a bunch of Panasonic 18650 2900mah coming in, so I'll see how that goes. It's still a 10A discharge, so I doubt it'll be any better. Might just have to try out the obtronics sx22 and see if a 20A battery works better.

Since I got the new top cap I am able to now get my atty's to screw all the way in. I think it sucks that I had to pay for a fix that should have been taken in to consideration before the mod was even released. :( I am severely OCD when it comes to these kind of things so I feel like I HAD to get the replacement cap.

Over all the mod is nice, but at the price we paid I feel that HOH should have just issued us the replacement pins. I have also started using the Sony VTC5's and have not noticed any battery resets lately, but I have not really been using my ZNA a lot. I am a GP user through and through though because of the superior support they provide if you have any problems. Replacement parts are never a problem with the GP team.

I think this is my first and last purchase of any HOH gear. I bought the ZNA because I wanted to play around with a DNA 30 mod and hate box mods.

We have 3 ZNAs in the family and only my sister-in-law's zna doesn't take flattops. I would have thought they would have done a better job of ensuring the reverse battery protection was actually working, but kinda glad now mine takes the flattops.

Heh heh. I would have been so happy to receive a unit that works with a flat top. Sigh

The Panasonic 2900 PD's don't fit in my ZNA #944, bottom cap doesn't go all the way in. they fit nice in the ProVari! Have the ZNA top cap that came with it, think it's the old cap, the one with the hex screw for the battery.

LOL damnit I have 4 of those coming! Hahahahahahah oh the tragedy. Starting to reaaaally regret my zna purchase.

I don't think the top cap is the problem in your case.

Yeah I think the "Mechanical" reverse battery protection is flawed. You may have to take it apart and sand a bit off off the delrin part that surrounds the positive pin. :( My serial is 363 so maybe they fixed this problem in the later runs?

I'm wary about permanently altering any parts tbh. But I might just be desperate enough to do it eventually. The variety of flat top batteries just far exceeds that of button tops unfortunately

HOH customer support is great I live in Guatemala so it's kinda hard for me to send items to USA (expensive) my ZNA was autofireing and they sent me a new one and as far as I can see the flat top batteries wouldn't make contact, the real question is, does the vtc5 worth the effort to use them on the ZNA? Or the orbtronics ? If the unit doesn't reset with those batteries yes they worth the effort, the ZNA is a great device I never regret my purchase the unit is sexy and remember the ZNA was the first DNA 30 mod and 279 was a fair price, I don't like the box mods.

Really easy to do, just need an allen wrench, back that screw out and the delrin comes right off with the screw.

It's normal, they use different batteries. The VS uses a nano-tech 1200mah Lipo with a 15C constant discharge rating. The ZNA with the stock tube uses a AW 1100mah IMR with a 10C constant discharge rating.

Higher C rating and slightly higher mah means the Lipo isn't being taxed as much.

This. My 1200 mah lipo in the Hana Mini v3 kicks a 18490's ..... I probably get almost double battery life from the lipo. I don't know why but I always here people complain about lipo batteries. Other than them not being swappable I like them.
