Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance. Manual PV's are the only PV's worth owning unless you only vape once an hour. Get a Prodigy, Screwdriver, GG, JS, LV or 510 and then you won't have these issues.

Hello,
Can you tell me what each of those types is? Are they all "big" models? Couldn't get all your abbreviations...
I'm guessing Greek Goddess, Janty Stick (510 right?), LV?

Understand that on the bigger battery models, they will cost more initially but the replacement batteries cost $2-$3 instead of $15-$20 so you will save money in the long run and actually have hassle free vaping. These models (other than the 510) get 5-8 hours of battery life on one charge and provide consistent throat hit and vapor due to having batteries that are the right size for the intended purpose. Plus with the manual switch PV's, YOU control how warm the vaper is and there is no concern with liquid getting in the battery compartment. Here are the links:

You know, the only e-cig purchase I regretted was my 401. Oh, it's a nifty looking e-cig, and it's fun to vape, but, as you noted, I generally don't get a particularly good hit with it, even with high nicotine liquids. Moreover, I found it bothersome to deal with the itty-bitty cartridges since I'm a heavy vaper . . . more trouble than it was worth to constantly pop the cartridge with a straightened paperclip to refill. I occasionally dipped the atomizer, and that worked pretty well, but with so many other way cool models out there, I just put my 401 up in case of an emergency.

If you're looking for something that still kind of sort of feels like a cigarette when you hold it, you should look into the 510 with MANUAL batteries. The battery life isn't the greatest, but the manual battery and the 510 atomizer pack a very nice punch.

If you're thinking that you're not terribly tied to the idea of vaping with something that looks like a cigarette or a pen, then you're ready to walk on the wild side. You can try one of the Big Five wv2win references in his post. I have a Screwdriver and a JantyStick, and I love them both. At about 3.7 volts, both provide a strong vape and longer battery life than any of the "traditional" models. And surprisingly, they're not nearly as large as one might think.

And if you're really looking to step things up, the GG and the Prodigy offer vaping at even higher voltages. I don't have much experience with really high voltage vaping, but I'm sure you'll find TONS of information if you search the forum.

:DThank you both so much!! You really helped me. Looks like I have a 510 AND a "big boy" model in my future. :hubba:. I'm over trying to look like a normal cig smoker. :p

To be fair, most folks when they first start vaping are quite self-concious, especially vaping in public. It often is an easier transition to start off with something that kind of looks cigarette-like. The decision to try vaping is oftentimes a big enough decision in and of itself.

But once you start vaping, you begin to imagine the possibilities. And for many of us, we like having something that does NOT look like a cigarette. My PV is welcome in many, many places where cigarettes are simply not permitted. My local Starbucks has gotten used to seeing me quietly (and discretely) vape while I enjoy a latte with my dad. No one mistakes my PVs for a cigarette. :D

O.k. so i got my 501 in the mail and tried it out yesterday. I really like the warm air feel as compared to my 401. I also like the taste of the juice is much better warmed up. Really brings out the flavor. BUT------- very interesting turn of events. I cleaned my 401 attys and my 510 atty because i was worried about "primer" from the new attys irritating my throat.
When I cleaned them all out, all of the sudden i get throat hit on my 401~ wth! Pretty cool. I guess it's true that a lot of things go into throat hit, the atty, the ecig model, the juice, etc.
