Hi yall, I'm new here but have been reading old threads for long time, all these conversations help lots of people learn stuff, and a little bit entertaining and fun at times too! Anyway, I'm wanting a new box mod. At this moment I'm too lazy to google- is this microstick a regulated device? Id love a side by side device, and prefer 18650 regulated. Actually have been super pleased with my Cloupor Mini....hell the paint/finish is wearing off where my thumb goes on the damn thing I vape it so much

Mini Volt, KSD, iStick Mini, all uncomfortably small in my hands. They're like two finger mods. iStick Pico is still a bit small, but at least it's a three finger mod. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Note: My finger count does not include an opposable thumb. I do have at least one of those.

Yes, it is kind of 2 finger. My little finger underneath, index finger over top, middle and ring curl around. I don't even grip it, it just sits there. Hope you find your perfect fit. :)

I believe I would find the Pico comfy but I don't support Joyetech/eLeaf. YMMV

Hi Hoots - and welcome to ECF. The Microstick is not regulated, but it's older brothers (XvoStick and YStick) are both 18650, regulated, and side-by-side.

What's your budget?

The Xvo is no longer being produced, but it can be had on sale for $180 at:

It's an awesome mod. Marvelously comfortable, and the DNA40 performs as smooth as silk. Unless you vape higher than that, in which case, the YStick might be a better choice.

What wattage do you normally vape at?

@dplongo, you'll be "glad" to know that Ave40 is advertising the knight as the XVO killer.

LOL! Well, having seen six or seven hundred "Provari Killers" come and go, I'll withhold judgment. It's a fantastic looking device. If the chip is comparable, we've got game.

You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about now. :)

Seems like I'm in the minority of some crowds, but I vape MTL style ~1.5ohm single coil at 9 to 12 watts. Its what I like best- and lucky for me battery life is great that way:thumb:
And i could spend 200 if one had my needs covered and was top notch quality. Aint like im gonna quit vaping ya know:thumbs:

We're almost exactly aligned, both wattage and resistance.

You can wait to see how the Smoant Knight does, at about $50, or jump into an Xvo. Either can be challenging if the mod runs into problems, so it might be a better bet to sit it out for a bit longer, and see how the Knight holds up. I certainly wouldn't recommend putting your medications at risk for ANY mod.

About time instead of cloning a device changes were made.

Good or bad at least changes were made and as consumers we can decide it we like the changes

Features are nice, but I NEED good performance. Smooth, steady, and reliable. If the Knight has that, it will indeed be what it's advertised as.

It does look nice, and it says al the right things on the package, AND it is sold in the states (which given past experiences is a plus in my book). It is, however, mass produced from China, so I'm leary, which is kind of odd since 95% of my mods are massed produced in China.

It would be fine for throwing as far as I could. Likely not very far or not far enough.

But I like small tiny mods. :w00t:
Same here. I was just being nice. :D Basically every mod I own makes a better lounging at home mod than that brick. A huge brick is still a huge brick at home or on the road.
But I do like seeing new things, mod makers taking chances with new ideas. I give them props for trying.
TheWestPole said it best, theres just not much they can really do with a dual battery side by side.

Probably because you've seen & felt the difference with the chips they're jamming inside. You're spoiled. ;)

Yup, two months ago I had no idea that there was a difference, now between the authentic XVO and the pthingie, I am definitely spoiled. Not that I have stopped using my other stuff mind you, but the bargain doesn't seem like such a bargain anymore when I think that I can save the bargains and buy a really good vape.

I hear ya! I still use all my everything, but some stand out in the crowd. The Xvo is one of the ones way up on top.

Sadly I will not be able to compare this mod to the vape from an evolve dna chip. I failed in my attempt to replace one of my xvo clones board with an evolve chip. All my other mods are also china chip based some better than others
Next week will be my 3 year Vaperversary and I just now have an authentic DNA 40. China has actually been very very good to me.
