Here's a Microstick 18500 clone I converted to accept an 18650 and spring loaded 510. Been using it for awhile, but will do a bit more work on it. The switch will be replaced with one from an LPG (my favorite) allowing me to shorten the height of the mod by 6 mm, bringing it to 77 mm total to the top of the switch, exactly the same is the custom wood mod in the bottom picture.

Yes, I too am a big fan of the side-by-side form factor.

I've concluded an extensive self-examination relating to exactly what's best for me from the SbS market. Letting nature be my guide, I loaded up all the SbS mods I have, and monitored which one or ones I grabbed for continuously.

Interestingly, but not necessarily surprisingly, it turns out that my taste lean towards the simpler options.

So, the ones I'm keeping, and will continue using as I've been are:

  • XvoSticks (keeping 2 of 2) - My original SbS is still my favorite. Some have challenged over the years, but all things considered, they're simply irreplaceable for me. Sealed 510s, amazingly durable finish, and my introduction to both SbS' and a front/low button (which turned out to be my favorite placement for all mods, ever).
  • Union 3.0 (keeping 1 of 1) - Plastic, but a durable variation, amazingly light, and an absolute joy to use. The DNA60 is an excellent chip for me too, as it's easy to use and relates well to my simple needs (wattage only). Plus, it's got my favorite battery cap ever, in any mod. If it had a front button instead of top, this one might have pushed the Xvos off the top platform. But a silver medal ain't nothin' to sneeze at, so there's that.
  • DamnMods Warlock (keeping 1 of 2) - Small, thin, light, and quite enjoyable to use. I'm keeping the DNA one, again, for its simplicity. Downside is that it's a printed mod, and does pickup little cracks and what-not. I considered getting rid of both but am 90% certain that the DNA will stay.
SbS aficionados would laugh at these choices ("Get off my lawn!"), but vaping remains a personal issue, and I can't change what I feel just to be "cool".

At some point I'll get off my rear and do something with the couple/few stragglers. With me, it will happen impulsively (been here, done this). One took care of itself as it was returned to the modder for repairs almost a year ago, never to be returned (such is the life of a vaper) :|.

Here's to my winners. Long may they wave. Happy weekend, all, and good luck with the SbS hunts!
:vapor::vapor::vapor:

(Warlock omitted due to its still uncertain status)

I've been vaping with the SXK Supbox DNA mod for a couple of weeks and thought I would post some thoughts. This is the side by side mod that can use 510 atomizers and Billet Box Boro tanks. In short, I like it alot.

It is sort of a stubby mod made of ABS and has a rugged feel I really like. No worries about scratches here. DNA 60. Mostly use as with 510 atomizers but like having the Boro option. Switching between the two modes is a bit more fiddly than I think it needs to be, but it works well. The mod has been totally reliable.

ok here are some pics of the tesla stealth 40w, next to my other side-by-sides....I put a little mini volt next to it for size reference:

dpk4kp.jpg

kf1s7d.jpg

from left to right they are: athena envy22, Ystick, Xvostick, Smoant Knigth v1, tesla stealth, tesla stealth 40w and the mini volt...

Here a pic with a tank in it (Kabuki) next to the mini volt again, as you can see it beats it in tallness by quite alot.
The Xvo is equiped with the Nauti X (with the 4ml glass extension):

and finally a hand check, this time with the TFV4 micro with the largest glass size, it's one tiny thingee :D and it will replace my current work mod

Still like it very much :)

2.5-3 years later, I'm still ecstatic with these Unions. They never made it to the endlessly growing "Sexiest" list of SbS mods, but they sit right at the very top of my personal list, along with the Xvos.

Simple, sturdy, and amazingly resilient. Very lightweight and easy to carry (smooth, curved lines, all around). I even adapted to the top-firing button, which actually surprised me.

Coupla tiny little nicks is all they've got, and only one of them has even that. They're USED. A LOT. Those who know me also know that "gingerly" is not a word in my galaxy.

To the folks over at RusMods, thank you & well done (indeed!). One of my better vape purchases, for sure.
