Yes, that answers some of my still-forming questions. I do like this idea of pinging the temp tho. That seems to be as advanced as we've become in this new arena, and I'm truly liking the tech of it.

When one is using an atty, be it any (non-TC) atty, there's no way to test the temperature, correct? So how do we know if/when we're overheating one?

Oh, and I  geeks.

Talk nerdy to me? ;)

Hohmtech hasn't been completely transparent in their implementation of the technology. I can't say that I blame them, as it will take others that much longer to copy. Without knowing more, I'd be hypothesizing. This technology, along with Evolv's use of temperature coefficients of resistance, are both used to a very high level of accuracy in industry. However, the implementations are "tuned" to single-purpose, closed systems.

We introduce so many variables to the process that PV manufacturers have no control over. Different attys, wire alloys of differing compositions (sometimes out of spec) and human variables and errors are but a few hurdles that need to be overcome. I think it's going to be a while longer before we have TC systems capable of accuracy of better than +/- 50F.

I think that R&D investment has greatly slowed, pending the deeming regulations. No one wants to invest a great amount of resources, only to find themselves unable to capture any returns on said investments.

I may pick up a Hohmwrecker, simply for giggles, as I've seen them for as little as $65. The tech intrigues me.

LMAOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't help using that name either. I have difficulty remember that it's "Knight" (which is somewhat ironic for me - see pic below), but I KNOW that it's a Smoant. Yes, indeed!!!

Sea Wasp anyone?

I've been waiting for something ergonomic to come along under $1OO. This is close, very very close. I worry about painted tanks and how they hold up.

Somewhere, I think in one of the tootie puffer threads, a fireman entered the conversation with details on combustion. I got the jist of it, including that incomplete combustion was bad and have watched by old coils but haven't seen any browning from heat, so I figure I'm good without TC for now.

Last week, Vapor Beast had a sale on the Ijust Basic and I grabbed one. That thing is no brainer handy. It has better flavor than I was expecting based on the reviews I'd seen. I don't gag when I vape with it so throat hit is probably nill, which is the way I like it. MTL but if a person doesn't mind sucking on it for awhile they could probably get a D2L hit also.

This and the ego ONE must have some sort of regulation because I don't notice a drop in power like a true mech would do until it's about time to charge. That works for me. I also have to shake it really hard to produce any rattling. Much harder than I would with normal use. It feels solid as if it could survive a clumsy vaper without falling to pieces.

I've been chain vaping all day with it. The main con is stopping to refill constantly but that's still better than dripping and it's turned out to be a great way to test juices. One thing I liked better than I expected is the little LED light in the window to see what the juice level is. That's going to be great for driving at night.

Anyway, I like it. Super simple and small, about the size of a 3Ow istick with no tank. No screen, nothing to fiddle with and just handy. Not much to complain about. I'd definitely put one in the hands of someone new or in the hands of someone who doesn't want another hobby, like me.

The tech doesn't work worth a schit. Don't waste your money.

As I understood it, the eGo ONEs were supposed to deliver 4.5 V constant...

Not making a proposition here, but are you going to maybe find him a new home or what?

Envy is making new friends pretty fast...sits on a shelf with ipv4's,cloupors t5,6,8,hana,sbody, and another dozen or so that I have forgoten their names. It's a problem shared by many around here....always got to have the newest shiney mod out there

So for a side by side box mod, how well would this work---- say I find an18650 mechanical I like, or even that blue adapter someone was talking about earlier, but instead just put in an 18350 with a Kick regulator deal.? That is, if they make one that size. I only vape around 10 watts nearly all the time, but like regulated for the consistent vape and maybe longer batt life Any thoughts anyone?

And that's just 1 shelf... the atty shelf is alot fuller.

The envy does preform well but it's too boxy for my tastes. I did not expect to like the shape of it when I bought it but it had been so long since I had bought a new mod and at the time I did not see any new side by sides coming out.
Then the next day the knight popped onto the scene and I lucked out becoming an early adopter.
