I have some issues with it, but in the $50 range, it could be a nice addition.

I want to see if hang around for a few months before jumping. I'll know after that just how big those concerns are.
Care to enlighten us on your concerns?

Shirley, my vaper of liberty! And I doubt they're unique to me.

  1. The reliability, and eventual durability, of the two plugs.
  2. That "key". Is it proprietary, or can we use a screwdriver? Cuz I'll lose or misplace it. That's a guarantee.
  3. The design of the tube, and how firmly is seats in its spot. Will it feel "loose" at all, and will it create the proper vacuum on a consistent basis?
  4. The slide off, magnetic cover. As long as they used enough magnets so it won't slide off in a jacket pocket, it should be fine.
And finally, will Charles be back to us with other videos? Because I kind of like the guy! White t-shirt, no fluff, no schtick, just "Here it is!". A refreshing change, to be sure.

, Charles Ross!

Legitimate concerns... Charlie needs to watch some teenage YouTubers and learn about lighting. :|

Can't speak to #1, #3, or #4, but the Aspire site indicates you can use a coin or the key so I guess it is proprietary if your coin doesn't work! ;) Thank you for the analysis!

I had one in my shopping cart tonight and so close to pulling the trigger...then got cold feet and didn't.

The grooves on the display side were the deal breaker for me, once it's finished in black the edges of the grooves seem like they'd get barked up pretty easy and trap lint and dirty easily, on the other hand, the finish on my Mini-Stick was some of the most durable on any device I've owned, very high quality...dang it, might just get it anyway, $169 is a great deal on this one and I love the shape.

These groves are probably on there to "hide" the line between the upper and lower part of the mod. That line wouldn't look nice where the screen starts.
I think it's a good solution, not too afraid of a little dirt getting in there.

The more I see it, the more I like it...hell I ordered a second one :) It's a great price for a mod with the sx350j v2, even if it looks a litte bit quircky. It's becoming part of it's charm for me :D Only thing that bothers me is that it is a little bit too big...

I wasn't asked, but I'm gonna weigh in on the Plato, too...

I have a strong bias against Aspire. The 30 Watt was fugly and overpriced, the Pegasus was a disaster in that they used consumers as beta testers. The Triton RTA system is likely the WORST RTA head I've ever had the misfortune of using.

There, that's out of the way...

I dislike any closed system that locks you into a specific coil or set if coils. This one does. If, for some odd reason, Aspire discontinues any of the coils, the device becomes a paperweight. I also do not like integrated tanks, although I admit being fond of the eGrip (which has several flaws, but us just so darn cute). For these reasons, I will not be purchasing a Plato.

I feel the same way about the NEBOX, but must add leaking and plastic to the list.

I think Athena/Beyond Vape, and Eleaf, and Innokin have superior side-by-side products in their eNVy 22/eNVy 17/Tandem, Basic, and VTR lines, respectively. These allow for a choice of coil, choice of tank, or, in the case of the Tandem, a riser to use RDAs.

Can you expound a bit on the Triton RTA? It would seem to be the ideal rebuildable head. With solid terminations for both leads, it would seem great for TC.

I originally believed the Plato used the Cleito's heads. That apparently is incorrect. That's too bad, as it would allow the use of the upcoming RTA head. I am hesitant, with the deeming regs, to adopt any tank without a rebuildable option.

An AIO (like Plato, eGrip & BB) might be the perfect O&A device for me. I generally only vape unflavored outside of the house, prefer something highly pocketable and am often stealth vaping. The eGrip only has 1500mAh LiPo but the Plato has the replaceable 18650. There seems to be so many upcoming product releases, I may just chance the deeming and wait.

In theory, the TRITON RTA might be nice. I practice, the screws used a far too small and fragile... I broke two on the first couple builds. Second, the wicking holes are not in line with the coil... or, if you make them in line, you get a hot leg as the coil will no longer be centered. If you build contact coils, you cannot tweak the coils. You cannot dry burn and rewick, either.

All of that INSIDE an Atlantis Coil housing. Ugh.

Meanwhile, Anyvape and Saucecode have a 2-post RBA head that will fit. The screws are a bit small, but I've managed to put some decent builds in there... The version 2 has decent wicking. The version 1 has tiny wicking holes a la the Kanger Subtank V1 RBA.

Sadly, the new RBA head for the Cubis are almost as fiddly. Vertical coils in the Cubis are easy enough, but horizontal coils have some weird wicking requirements...

The Melo 2 RBA, though... it's easy and clean and quick...

Then you shirley will not like these...

I'm now leaning on your side of the aisle, Shawn. It's a cute little device, but. I agree with DPL that waiting for its legs is prolly the best direction to go. Or not go. Depending on whether or not waiting can be perceived as going.

Yeah... I watched that video and another by smokie901. Again, they look like a decent enough vape, and for a beginner or maybe a first upgrade, I can see their place in things.

The Plato is a 50 Watt TC sub ohm box using replaceable 18650 batteries. None of that says beginner to me. All of that says intermediate vaper. At the intermediate level, being able to choose coils and tanks becomes important imo...

These are truly closed systems, a few steps crazier than the Plato or eGrip. These lock you into everything from the manufacturer, including vliquid and their choice of coil. The Plato & eGrip are much closer to a BB.

The Digirette & Europa are proprietary to the nth degree. I think I'll pass.

I'm now also on the fence about the Plato, on paper it looks awesome, but I share some off @DPLongo22 concerns so I'll wait for some real live reports....
It's a little bigger than the Xvostick, and it doesn't allow me free choice of tanks. But it does look like a real good cheaper alternative to use when on holidays, in the pub etc. I'm still leaning towards it as it does tick alot of boxes for me, but as I just ordered some other side-y-side, so I 'll wait for some real live experiences

As will I, Alden. ESPECIALLY with their "economical" replacment tanks. One is (appx/can't recall/don't quote me) 6.99 for 5ml, and the other was (same caveat) FOURTEEN NINETY NINE for 6ml.

SMH and  ing

You thinks correct Kat...just ordered up, the $60 discount and my favorite chipset were tough to pass up.

And Tru, might we be so brazen as to ask for a bit of a personal review and pics once you have it, please? PLEASE? :)

It actually took me a bit longer than usual Kat, I actually waited almost 48 hours before hitting the order button on this one.

I'd be more than happy to post up pics/thoughts once it arrives, someone will likely beat me to it and I wouldn't mind if they did, it would give me a chance to bail out if there's issues...pretty confident there won't be, Chels products are pretty solid in my experience and accessible customer service, so not to worried.
