Me too. I've bought several mods lately, and although they are fine, they are not very exciting and are going into the vapepocalypse box.

What I would really like to see is a SBS with a DNA 75 board. I like this Wismec/joytech/eleaf board fine, but it isn't the same smooth vape that I get out of a DNA 40.

And @Katdarling, unless I'm mistaken the DNA 40 doesn't do any TC other than nickel, and to me that is why it is considered outdated. Still, to me the best vape out there, but IF I ever do TC, I want it to be with stainless steel and the board doesn't support that.

I think I'm OK with the 40. I still have a bit of headroom.

And when I want temp control, I drink a glass of water.

The entire industry is still in diapers, yet terms like "outdated" exists. That right there's funny (I don't care who you are). :vapor:

Thank you, LtCG.

I'm good with 40 too, don't get me wrong. I'm also not a TC person. That said, the science is still out on safe wire, safe temps, etc. If the regs go into effect, who knows if the science will continue.

I HATE the fact that people are relegating low wattage vapers to being beginners, since the majority of low wattage vapers these days are actually the veterans. I also frown at the China companies trying to go higher and higher in wattage, yet not doing any innovation for the low wattage market. Will anyone ever need 300 watts? If they do, more power to them.[emoji57]

I don't mind them calling me whatever they wish. I can assure you that whatever it is, I've been called worse.

And significantly at that.

Rollo-come-home!!!!! :rickroll:

Sitting down, facing forward.
One of my favorite mods is an SBS DNA40 I built from scratch. I use titanium coils in it with no problem, 30 watts at 400F. All it takes is adjusting the temperature limit to accommodate the different resistance curve of titanium versus nickel. I haven't gotten around to trying SS, yet, but would certainly expect to be able to adjust the temperature limit of a DNA40 to be able to use it with no problem.

Tried that already. Tried again, held them both for over 15 seconds, with both power on and off. DOES NOT WORK, for me. Can other KNIGHT V1 owners confirm behavior? Thanks
Works as it should; Fire + Up. It's the 1st thing I did when I got mine.

You said a mouthful!!!

Beginner vapers used to be those who only used pre-built coils. Intermediate & advanced was those who built their own.

When did it change to beginners being low wattage vapers?

As it stands now, the whole vaping industry is an embarrassment to me. It's {IMO} no longer about staying off cigarettes. Now it's all about the insanely high wattages & atomic bomb size clouds.

Now don't get me wrong- many people know I am definitely a cloud chaser but I don't need 300W to do it,

I've had the RX75 for a few days now, it's very nice, especially for the price. TC is working nicely so far, it does keep asking me "new coil/same coil", every time I pick it back up, so I locked the ohms, maybe that's just this one tank, haven't really had time to try a bunch of different tanks yet. I'd still grab my Pico's for out and about, as they are smaller. The grip firing is very cool, seems well designed.

If you are a serious Temp Control vapor, I would not recommend the Knight V1. The chipset may be a PWM type, not a smooth signal. And while reviewer down play the weight of this mod, it's HEAVY. I know many equate weight with "quality of build", I don't, they used cheap "pot metal" to save costs. I bought it for fun, love the form factor, and other then the TC board issues and heft, I'm not disappointed, I don't expect much from these inexpensive Chinese mods, so I don't get bent out of shape when they are not perfect. Doubt mine will see much use, but if you don't mind the weight, and don't use TC much, then it's perfectly adequate.

I got the Wismec RX75, the same day, and it's very nice, so if you can only afford one of these two, take a look at that mod. Granted the design is not all that comparable between the two. But if you like a lighter mod that has a better TC chip, then the choice is easy.

Have to agree with you Mac, never thought I'd see a mod that outweighed my SX Mini M class and since I don't use temp control there's no issues with the chipset for me.

I've always been interested in the original design of this kind of side by side, but the "original" models price always kept me away, and that it had a DNA40 in it, which other then the wattage and TC wire limitations, is probably a better board then whatever clone board and software these folks used. That and the custom maker never had any stock, and who knows how long he would be around if and when you needed spare parts etc. Some custom stuff is great, I own two REO's, and Rob has basically retired, glad I stocked up on spare parts. Something to consider when you go HIGH price custom.

I don't do Facebook "lists", or invitation only mods and RDA's, too SNOBBY for my tastes, especially for the money they ask for, I don't need to beg for someone to take my hard earned money.

Something like this $35 mod, isn't going to hurt at all, if like me, it does not supplant my other mods, I'll just give it away to a fellow non TC vapor.

Looks like the original designer went to a newer chipset. $235.00, SIX WEEK shipping waiting estimate. Sorry, not interested. I'm sure it's very cool though. The Knight V1, has satisfied my curiosity, and saved me a lot of money.

ProYStick (shipment in 6 weeks) - Mini ECIG

This is the older 18650 DNA40 version:

Will a 23mm tank, such as the Merlin, fit in the Knight?
Looks like there is room, but not sure.
Thanks

I just tried it for you, it did screw down, but for whatever reason it was tight threading, maybe the spring loaded 510 added resistance. You might have to use the included Allen key to rotate the Knight base so as to not block the airflow ports.

Using the Merlin on the new Wismec RX75, does not have this airflow issue as they designed it to have more space on the backside of that mod, VERY smart. The Wismec is not, in my opinion a true side X side, as the tank does not sit down very far on the mod, look at the pictures and judge for yourself.
