Well said, and thank you. I do prefer 808 threads even in big batteries. I generally have more manuals but am urrently on an auto jag so I got an echo but didnt know what to pair it with so its just sitting here refusing to fully charge. Was thinking clear 808 ce4 clear cartomizer/tank or echo duel coils. Is the go go tank just a rebranded name for the ce4's? Will keep that i mind. Started with 510 threads but 808 got me.

Is the go go tank just a rebranded name for the ce4's?

No, hunh unh, the Ce4's are 510/eGo

Yes, the Volts are 808s. They have bigger batts in their range too, the X2s, up to 1300 mah:

I prefer a vivi nova with a 808-510 adapter over the clearos. I'll try the 808 T3s with them tho.
Haven't tried a Go-Go - sounds like it's similar to the larger Volts X2s but the Go Go has its own proprietary tank?

Yes, the GO-go has it's own proprietary system so the only Tanks that will work with them are the GO-Tanks designed specifically for them. I do believe they're coming out with 510 & 808 adapters very soon.

I am just trying to get started vaping so reading this really kinda unmotivated me! I hope I have better luck.

But I also wish you a change of luck!
Don't worry about it too much, Cynthia (<3 that name, BTW). There's literally tons of success stories that started out just like this.

I'll let you in on a little secret: When trying to quit cigarettes (or any addiction, for that matter) we tend to focus on the negative experiences much more than the positive.

The reason? We simply find it hard to "let go" of our habit. We try to find little "excuses" to sabotage our own plans. Then we see those excuses add up, as if they had a cumulative effect, or something.

Vaping worked for me. I kicked a 23 year, pack a day habit. The habit part was a bit harder to quit than the actual addiction, but after about 2 weeks into vaping, I bummed a drag off a friends cig... the same brand I had smoked for years... and I spent the rest of the morning trying to wash the taste and smell off of me! That and the fact I didn't get that "rush" you sometimes got after "needing" a cigarette for a long time did it for me.

So read around the forum and you'll see that the positive vaping experiences far outweigh the negatives, and even those negatives usually end up being positives in the long run. I hope I said that right, I just got up! :D
Good luck to you all!

AC, I totally feel your frustration and I feel the same way. Every time I buy something and thinking "this is it" few days later I find that vapor or taste or both are simply not there. My brand new vivi nova worked fine for two days, now I get very little or no vapor and keep sucking on that thing like crazy. Problem is that there is nothing that will replace a real cig, where you light it up and take a drag and you get instant satisfaction. No messing around with attys, cartos, battys, juice and other crap.

On the other hand I read that full time smokers live an average 10 years less that people who don't smoke. I figure those 10 years are worth my troubles, since those should be the best 10 years when you kick back, enjoy the spoils of your hard work in retirement, playing around with your grand kids and going places you've always want to go. So I am planning on kicking this vapor business out the door, and staying off nicotine whatsoever. Going back to real cigs will be a real bummer for you, just quit messing around with the stuff altogether...you will be fine after a week or so.

Dear apathetic, I am cracking up with your anxiety!! as I know what you are talking about,!!! that was me 3 months ago.. calm down now and just listen.. the research is endless on this site, and that is because we are all, in a sense, beginners, this is new technology for everyone, even the makers of the ecigs are still learning!!! My advice is to go to smokelessimage.com and get the volt manual.. just do it. juices are so subjective, I like coffee and nut flavors so I order from diyflavorshack and halo.. if you like sweets then get sweets, and also, hahaha, take your time to get used to flavors, you will never find a tabacco flavor like a nasty rotten ...., relax and enjoy.. we are here to help each other, it is just the beginning, we are all trying to find the answers for the best .. so research and give us your feedback to help another beginner out!!!See you around on the best forum out there!

Apathetic,

You say you like the setup your friend has, but his tank is too small - well, you don't like the way your big tank works, so learn to fill a smaller one more often. I have never cared for the DCT (cartomizer tanks) - I don't buy them. I like the taste I get from a Kanger T2 or T3 clearomizer; they're smaller tanks, 2.4ml, but thats enough to last me most of the day and if I need more I carry a small 5ml bottle of e-liquid or another clearomizer.

As far as your e-liquid goes, try small bottles until you find a good one. Most of the stuff I tried when I started were crap - I wish I would have bought smaller bottles, but I figured I was saving money by getting the big bottle. Now that I make my own liquid, I save about 2/3 or better than retail - when I make a new flavor, I make a 5ml batch. If I don't like what I make, I toss it or experiment with it.

And as stated y others, local shops are probably the worst - they're out to make money, fast. Of the few brick and mortars in my area, I wouldn't buy from any of them.

Quit if you like, just don't blame other people for not telling you exactly what should work for you.

Welcome to ECF. Vaping is much cheaper than smoking, but not if you buy new things every little bit.

1. I have saved USD $4k in a year and 5 months of not smoking.
2. I am not lucky enough to have many B&M. I would read more reviews on ECF, and make my own decisions if you do not like local.
3. There is a middle ground. Stick with it, if you stop smoking for a little while, you can afford any device you want. Or several.
4. You mention 'satisfying clouds'. Smoking is a complex addiction. If you want big exhales, perhaps you are inhaling too hard? Some PVs/atty/cartos combinations do not work well with that. Perhaps you want more VG (more 'satisfying clouds)' or more PG ('better flavor'). There are many ratios, try several.
5. See #2. These should all be 510 connections. Find one that you like, and try some. Don't depend on a vendor that you don't like.
6. See #1, and #3. Going cheap is not the best way to go. Find one you like (See #5) and get backups. Get backups of your backups.

Some of my answers above are redundant, but so were your questions.

What nicotine level are you using?
What are your friends using that you like? (ask them where they got it).
How much do you spend a year on your cellphone? I try to not drop it, but I spend much less per month on vaping (I DIY my juice) than I do on a fairly modern smartphone with data plan.

I understand your frustration! I had stopped smoking for three months, then had several battery deaths in a row. I had to smoke, and I felt bad about it. Get backups, of backups, and stick with it!

Edit/Addendum: as per your #2:

2. The learning curve I've since gotten over, from this forum I've figured out alot of things on how they work. But I still don't know the fundamentals on how to make a choice when I go to a local e cigarette shop.

I would suggest the learning curve is not over.

So I'm coming back to my old thread from back in the day. What I can say about vaping then and now is this: there is a learning curve and in some cases a learning cliff and it all comes down to whether the vaper wants this to help them quit or wants this to become a hobby. I went the hobby route and it took me to some pretty dark places of anguish and despair. But I finally got to the top of the cliff and can now happily say vaping is one of the most versatile and fun hobbies out there. Now instead of my vape controlling me, I control my vape. So to anyone I scared by posting this, I apologize. I won't come post here saying that my vape is perfect or that after a few months it clicked and I was good from there. I'm still learning and still cursing. But now I know enough about what needs to be known to make this hobby reasonable. My one piece of advice if you want to quit smoking: Get something simple and reasonably enjoyable while you work down your nic levels. My advice for hobbyists: learn everything you can about ohms law, learn how juices are made, learn what the mah conversion is, learn the difference between volts and watts, learn that buying middle of the road mods means you get a middle of the road product, and watch everything pbusardo does on his website tasteyourjuice.com. Also if you've found something you love, don't stop there. Keep trying new things because one day or two months of your vape life will suck because something continuously goes wrong with your setup. Also. If you get on here for information, only do it in stints because everyone has a different account on how these things work and its hard to know who to trust. This is a hobby that will replace other hobbies because it is expensive, it is time consuming, and it is extremely rewarding. There was a moment when I finally had my first PERFECT vape. I haven't had it since so I'm now researching on how to get back there. Bliss in vaping only remains bliss for no more than 2 months at a time. So never stop vaping and never stop making the decisions that you believe will lead you to a better vape.

Look Bud- You obviously know how to use the internet, and taste is subjective. Can you be a little more specific on what your looking for? If it's flavor reduction with carto's, well then I understand. Have you tried atty's? You will have to deal with dripping, but for flavor and throat hit they can't be beat. Also, if your looking for ease of set up and use try punching your own Boge carto's, they work well for me, and a saddle valve at home depot is awfully cheap.
I too have a budget, but my budget is dictated by my kid's smiles when they hear how many days I've not smoked. I'm sure someone else has already posted this for you, but thought I'd throw my two cents in.
Lastly- DO NOT go back to analogs bro. Just quit it all if that's what your thinking of. I know this sound s like every person you've ever talk about this, but please hear it this time. "You deserve more"
