It sounds soooo good!

But I'm keeping my expectations tempered. We've used porous ceramics before, (as wicks, not with embedded coils) and they haven't worked out perfectly. Too fragile, too much ceramic dust, and too expensive even with their long life (when they didn't break).

And these have been announced, but they are not even on a pre-sale yet. They could be just a pipe-dream or an engineering concept straw-man to judge interest. Or they may cost an arm and a nice kat leg.

I still want a wick-less laser fired atty! Atomizing juice injectors shooting a stream of juice into a laser beam for clean cooking!!

No problems with the battery cover/door? Does it stay on tight?

I can't say I like it. Can't say I hate it. Can say I have chased it and the battery around on the floor a couple times already. I am the first to admit that I am extremely active and a bit ham-fisted so a mod has to be tough to hang with me. The size of this device makes it is perfect as an active pocket carry but a door that pops off this easily could prove to be a problem for me. Also, and again this is not a deal breaker, there is a little bit of give to the door before the magnets catch and kind of bring it back. It is kind of like a little click or jimmy. I have gotten use to it and it is not a problem but was a bit disconcerting initially. I think I mentioned else where that a couple set dimples would probably solve this.

I love this hidden coil ceramic thing. I learned to build back in the protank days for the superiority of the coil and to not be a slave to buying blister packs in case they got hard to find. Moved on to Taifuns and Lemo's from there and just keep learning to build each new one. I find it tedious and messy most of the time and I would love to have a well built, NON LEAKING device to just pop in and go

Not one--and hardly insignificant. :D

I'm a blister pack girl too, and so is my BFF Kat and many, many other vapers. I got my first RTA solely out of fear of pending regulations, honestly. I wanted to make sure that I can survive any bans, taxes and restrictions that are coming our way. I'm glad I did, because I discovered that I not only can do it but I actually enjoy the process--when I'm relaxed and have nothing more pressing to do. But 80% of my vaping still comes from blister packs.
I'm not really wanting to do the coil building/replacement thing either. But I feel I'm being railroaded into it...partly due to the lousy quality control of the ready made coils and partly because I, too, want to feel some safety against the coming storm from the Powers That Be. If I had my way in a perfect vaping world...I would be strictly plug and play with blister packs. I have some mechs in the event of the vapocolypse, and I have long been making my own DIY juice and have stores of nic in my freezer. The coils are my Achilles Heel. I am obliged to learn to re-build my coils, partly as a budget saver and partly as a hedge against the future.

If you don't want to play around with 18350 batteries...FT has a built-in 1800mAh battery model...

Seen that one, but I Like replaceable batteries. When it runs low just pop in another battery and keep vaping. I am an ultra low volt Tootle Puffer, so one battery will last me most of the day. Currently at most I replace my 14500's twice a day, normally just once, so the 18350 is right up my alley. I already have the batteries and charger, so I'm good there. Thanks anyway. :)

I seriously must be the luckiest coil-buyer on the planet (touch wood, so to speak). In 2-3 years I can count the bad ones I've gotten on one hand.

I just jinxed myself, didn't I?

In these vapin' days, it's sometimes hard to avoid feeling that way when you're not a person who cares to" keep up".

Got that right. Some nimrod yesterday was just oozing about how I NEED TC and titanium wire... despite that I've already tried it and hated it, and at 9w, don't need it anyway! Then he blathers on about .2 ohm coils and 60-70 watts, which might as well not even be called vaping; it's probably more like HUFFING since you need massive airflow for that kind of power/heat.

I make my own coils for the same reason my grandmother made her kid's clothes out of flour sacks -- it's cheap! :D

The most curious thing to me is why anyone cares so much about what someone ELSE does.

I don't care that anyone rebuilds it. I'm glad they like it. I certainly don't try to talk them OUT of it (joking around not considered).

Yet people are perfectly comfortable telling me all that I'm missing (no I'm not), and that I really need to try (no I don't) rebuilding.

I'm happy. Leave me the phark alone! ;)

And then complains that he's going through so much liquid....

He didn't get that far. :D But I was all set with my "30-40ml per WEEK" from my Achilles, if he had. :D When I mentioned that his setup would put in the hospital getting epi shots and an oxygen thing in my nose, he kindly shut it. :D

And I do hope that @fourthrok remembered that her Jags are on early today.

Looking GOOD too.
It's on two T.V.s right now! We were looking good...but from the way my son is cursing in the livingroom right now, I'm wondering. We're still ahead, at any rate!

I notice a lot of shops on facebook have a pic of someone blowing a cloud 3 yards/meters long and one wide like a rite of passage. I don't need that.
And that is why I've never stepped into a B&M. I should get over it, and consider supporting a local business, especially since I may need them in a pinch someday. But it's just so hard for me getting past the cloud crowd that they all seem to cater to. I guess that is just where the B&M's cashflow is. Same-o for the meet-ups and conventions.

It's all good if it keeps the crowd off cigg butts, but I'll bet a majority never smoked. My addeetude says vaping is for nic replacement therapy, and I don't like youngins to just think it is kool to vape. I guess I should get past my bad addeetudes that way, too, and accept whatever jerks people want to do, they should be allowed and encouraged to do with gusto.

(Oh, and it is pretty kool to vape, at least in comparison to 2+ packs a day of butts.)

(Oh, and get off my lawn, you damned kids.)

(Oh... wait... I don't have a lawn.)

Ok, I'll say it.

It is strictly my opinion, but the clouders are not vaping. THEY ARE SMOKING.

I've also lost my excitement and desire to frequent vape shops, for all the reasons everyone else has mentioned. Sadly, I'm attending vape meets less and less as well. The clouds are enormous, and nearly everyone is blowin'. I really don't choose to breathe in all that different vape. The smells are obnoxioso!!

I do hope this "skateboard" phase evolves soon. With people like Zen on board, perhaps we really CAN return vaping to a more "normal" level. How many of you, REAL former smokers, would have turned to vape at this point?

I would have laughed, walked away, and smoked myself a pack or two.

It is strictly my opinion, but the clouders are not vaping. THEY ARE SMOKING.

To me, with the wide-open airflow and deep lung hits, it's more like huffing -- like putting a bottle of nail polish (or model glue or other volatile chemical) in a paper bag and then sucking on it for all they're worth. That's neither vaping nor smoking and doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to either; it's HUFFING. Those "chuff" caps make that very clear, even in the name.

Why do they want to be like people so desperate to get high they're willing to destroy both their brain and their liver in the process?

As far as ceramic material goes - the Atlantis ceramic paper was encased in cotton with a stainless steel mesh surrounding all. Much was made of this (as most know). It was supposed or speculated that it was 'fiberglass' which it was not. But at a certain point a manufacture has to take into account the 'perception' rather than the reality and they went with pure cotton.

http://forums.aspirecig.com/discussion/16958/aspire-official-statement-on-atlantis-coils-material

More fear mongering from misunderstandings came with the Delta coil. Phil got the right info....

http://www.tasteyourjuice.com/wordp...nformation-on-the-delta-ii-wicking-materials/

All early attys had ceramic pots that encased the coil. Not aware of any problems with those.

I'll make the same claim as Phil does in the third paragraph above - I'm not a materials scientist... not making any claims... you decide :- )
