Awhile back...Mooch had a review on the PBusardo site...(the link is now gone)...that said...

1. The Samsung 30Q...has many recycles and retains more capacity than the VTC6...

2. The Sony VTC6...has more recycles than the HG2 and retains more capacity than the HG2...

3. The LG HG2...although an EXCELLENT battery...has the least recycles and the lowest retaining capacity...

Thus, for me, I only buy the Samsung 30Q...

I use the Samsung 30q’s, LG HG2’s, & Sony VTC6 and have for the last 3-4 years. In my experience the 30q’s seemed to die the fastest. The other two seem about equal and all three seem to give the same runtime. Ive just noticed the 30q’s seem to get less cycles before performance starts to sag. I haven’t done any documentation to verify this it’s just what I’ve gathered from years of use. Having said all that I usually just buy the cheapest of the three at the time I’m buying. All three batteries have performed excellent and are the best batteries for my type of vaping. The only time I’ve had a battery quit prematurely is a purple efest. I bought two and they were married. One of them just kicked the bucket with less than 100 cycles. I haven’t ruled out foul play by the wife, I watch ID discovery’s wonderful series wives with knives and I’m currently looking at the husband cell for any punctures.

Woderful wives with knives, sounds like a Sweeny Todd type of thing. There weren't any meat pies were there?
I haven’t watched every episode but with the popularity of Sweeney Todd I’m sure a wife has done the copy cat. If there’s a way to kill someone, ID discovery has a show that’s dramatized it. Murder porn is addictive though so watch at your own risk. Watch it too much and you will start imagining how your married pair of batteries has met a violent end. You may even start sleeping with one eye open because seeing what humans in relationships, that supposedly love one another, can do to each other will have you question everything you know.

Given your name, you seem to be paired well.

Allow me to add to the discussion... Of all the name-branded batteries that I have owned (LG, SONY, Samsung and Panasonic - the actual manufacturers), the LGs have proven themselves with the fewest cycles and the Panasonics the most cycles. Samsungs have fallen somewhat ahead of SONYs. This is vaping at almost entirely <25W. Higher discharge rates may show different results. It has also only been a sample size of 3 or 4 batts per manufacturer. I just replaced the LiPo battery in my 30W iStick (its second) with a 3500 mAh, 10A Panasonic/SANYO. If it matches the older 2900 mAh PFs, I should be set for another couple of years. I only wish Panasonic/SANYO would produce a 15A CDR or higher 18650. Even though I vape at lower wattage levels, I'm uncomfortable putting a 10A batt in a 60+W mod. Mistakes and ....e both happen.

aldenio, which are the Panasonics you use, pweeze?

Minimum verbosity: NCR18650PF & NCR18650GA.

Maximum verbosity:

I own 4 of the 2900 mAh NCR18650PF, 10A batts that have been around for as long as I've been vaping. Two have been relegated to flashlight duty because of their age (over 4.5 years old!). But my battery tester still rates them at 91% capacity. Their newest 10A batt is the NCR18650GA at 3500mAh. These 10A batts are only good for 40W max. I just picked up two of these (one for the iStick). I still have a handful of 30W or less devices still in rotation. At over 3 years old, my remaining two PFs will be moved to non-vaping duties now. They're still in the 93% capacity range. I'll recycle the older two. After 4.5 years, they owe me nothing.

Both of my LG HE2s barely survived 14 months and were at 70couple% capacity when recycled. They also liked to run on the very warm side (both charge and discharge). The HG2s are showing themselves a bit better than their older brothers. But at 6-7 months of daily cycling, they're sitting around 93% capacity. I ran nothing but 30Qs in my Primo SE. At 16 months old, they're (the two I still have) sit right around 92%. I no longer have SONYs in rotation. I refuse to pay the SONY tax.

There are reasons Tesla partnered with Panasonic for their Gigafactory.

Haven't you missed me? At least now I give a TL/DR "what time is it" in addition to telling you how to build the watch. :D

ETA: The NCR18650GA is a few tenths of a mm (0.2-0.3) fatter than your average 18650. It fit snuggly but safely in the 30W iStick.

In additionally to the factoid that I understood an "nth" of what you just said......... but yes, I've missed you!!!

Maximum verbosity is under/over/rated. ;)

PPPS. I never knew you were so incredibly (and brilliantly) left-brained.

Mooch measured the Samsung-30Q, Sony-VTC6 and LG-HG2...all...at CDR 20A and 3000mAh...

The Samsung-20S (Blue) measured at CDR 30A...but only 2000mAh...

Thanks, gerrymi! Yeah. I read Mooch's reports. I just really like Panasonic's batteries. Perhaps that's good enough reason to keep on tootle puffin'.
