I just read that it was a prodigy v3 from pure smoker that was the mod that blew up.
Not sure why 2 ego-T's on a charger doesn't count.

If you read that whole thing, she says that she was leaving the battery on th echarger until she needed it. sometimes for days. No good can come of that.
"stupidity is covered"
I mentioned a fire-proof charing bag in my last post and went looking around. I found several. This is just one example.

I was using an Omega with AW IMR 18650 battery. The battery was less than a week old.
I did not have a multimeter, but I do now.
I have a Trustfire Multifunctional TR-001 (couple years old) and a Tenergy Multifunctional TN270 from PureSmoker (month old)....I'm not sure which one I used with the battery that vented.
I did post about it after it happened but only got a couple of responses.
I have been vaping for close to 3 years and never had a problem. After 2 reports in the last month of mods knocking teeth out...I am questioning everything.
Just to clarify, the first two links for the exploding ego batteries happened whilst charging through a computer usb port, not recommended.
Interesting. Why is this? I've never heard warnings against this before. The fact that the Ego chargers are USB to begin with would seem to promote the fact that they should be plugged into computer USB ports. If it's unsafe then why not make them as wall socket plugs only?
We're talking about this kind of charger right?
Joye ego USB Charger
Just to add, I never actually do plug these into my computer USB post, but use a wall socket USB adapter.
Try testing your charger. TR-001 is getting old and they do fail. Just want to make sure your safe from this happening again. Happy vaping.![]()
