Gaining traction are electronic cigarettes (or e-cigarettes), marketed as the "healthier alternative" to regular smoking, with many brands offering free trial kits through online promotions that kids can easily access.

This REALLY irks me (and others I am sure!)
WHERE does it stop being a "vaping" community's fault and become a PARENTS responsibility to monitor what their children do online? I see alot of references to how easily kids can gain access to electronic cigarettes, but, can they not gain access just as easily to their mom and dad's cigarette stash at home? Can they not gain easy access to their liquor? (I was a kid once, I remember how simple it was ;) )
Let's not even discuss other things kids can gain access to on the internet & in their own hometowns.
So I ask again, when does it stop being a vaping community's fault and become a parental responsibility to know what your child is doing?! I understand kids are crafty, believe me, I have teens! But c'mon...stop blaming websites and the like for offering a GOOD and HEALTHIER alternative to ADULTS, simply because some crafty kid might get ahold of one of these things.
ANYTHING is accessible if a person/kid wants it badly enough.

I SOOO agree with this! We adopted my son from foster care 5 yrs ago... he has 9 siblings all but one of which his birth mother relinquished her rights to... we have had 10 Children in our home since we started foster care 5 yrs ago. Parental responsibility is definitely somewhat lax in this country IMO

Agreed HeatherC!
Not saying every parent is irresponsible, but there are many more than even you or I can begin to comprehend. The "it's easier to say yes than deal with it" mentality is sickening!

But seriously, kids can and will continue to find ways to sneak things even the most responsible parent wouldn't find out about. It's part of growing up I believe. But to chastise the vaping community, vendors, and the like simply because a child MIGHT think it's cool...I just see NO logic behind this other than, "Oh no, if they all stop smoking, there goes our tax revenue". It's, as I said, all a smoke screen for underhanded idiots governing our country to keep the gravy train chugging along.

I am SO SICK of people trying to put blame on companies, instead of bad parenting.

If your underage child manages to get their hands on your credit cards, order a PV online, get it shipped, get the package without you seeing/getting it first, and use it often, without you seeing, and you don't even notice the charge to your card, then you are basically a bad parent who doesn't care enough about your kids to monitor their activities until they're 18.

To put it bluntly, you are not doing your job.

If it was an actual job, and you did that poorly at it, you'd be fired.
