Rather than fumbling around in the dark I figured it would be best to ask first. I have never tried Ecigarettes before but would like to try them to see if I can finally get rid of the analogue ones. I would like something that has a decent batt life (4hours or so) with a good throat hit. Also I am a heavy smoker. Reading your advice section it looks like an eGo with 36mg is best for me, but what style and what vendor ito go with? Looks aren't that important to me Iam more into what's best to start with. Thanks for any advice.

For a really inexpensive starter kit that I think would fit your description, you should check out the Riva Lite Bundle at E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings Be sure to click the 20% off button on the top left of the home page and it will change the prices to 20% off. Go to the Riva 510 kits and scroll down to the Riva Lite Bundle. They're $29.95 for a complete kit and they are a really good place to start. I'm sure others will chime in here with other suggestions....try not to get overwhelmed....everyone has a favorite. I just know I used Rivas for a long time and they're great starter kits. Along with the kit, I'd suggest getting some BOGE 2.0 ohm cartomizers so you can try a couple of set-ups and see what you like. Also don't forget to get a couple of bottles of juice. Don't buy big bottles until you know what you like. (Buy 5ml or 10ml bottles of several until you've narrowed down your preferences.)

That's my best advice. It's a good place to start. In the meantime....read, read, read. There's a wealth of knowledge on these pages. But....you have to start somewhere. Once you start vaping, everything will make more sense. You can read yourself to death.....

EDIT: BTW, I'm in Tulsa. I see you're an Okie.....welcome and good luck. PM me if I can be of any help. This is a good decision you're making!

EDIT AGAIN!! I just went to L-F and checked and they're OUT OF STOCK! Darn it!!
There are other places that sell Rivas....I'll try to find some links. Also, an eGo kit is basically the same thing....they're everywhere.

If you're anywhere near Tulsa, there's a Vapor Kings store there....you could walk right in and try out some of their e-cigs and really get a good fix on what you need. You can even taste-test all their juices. Might be worth a trip.

I'd suggest you go with a 3.7 volt kit- many more options regarding cartos afterwards and it will give the "heavy smoker" the hit that's needed. In regards to batt life 100 mah= 1 hour normal vaping before recharge. If a vendor does not list the mah I'd steer clear of them IMHO.
My choices:
Kgo
EPower
Riva
Master Code Discount List

Good Luck.

I recommend the KGO.. these batts last all day and into the next. I get great throat hit and awesome vapor with 1.7ohm low res single coil resurrector cartos.. and it's 510 threaded so there are endless options for attys, cartos and tanks. Wish I had found this one first, would have saved a ton of money. Dark City, Virgin Vapors, Hoosier.. all carry the kits.

I just purchased an ego 808 threaded 900 mah ecig from vapor4life. It came with 5 mil cartomizers (one lasted me 22 days before it died) They last a full day (or more) but I top it off every night. Also came with a 6 mil tank. I like a 2 piece system.
Just fell like it is enough equipment to buy, without replacing the third piece (atomizer). Plus I don't drip. I was a heavy smoker and would be considered a heavy vapor. Coming from a small ecig, this was a good step up for me. Always charging batteries grows old. Now, I just start the day with two charged batteries, and a 5 mil cartomizer, and I am good to go. They have this kit on sale.

You're welcome. Take your time but when you decide on your order/ PV post it here so we can see if you have everything you'll need and to find you discount codes. Bad enough that you have to pay another shipping charge but even worse the wait. Unfortunately the Kgo is so very popular usually 5% is the discount.
Cheers.

Thanks for all the advice am looking forward to putting it to good use. Rawwilli

I'd have to agree with Jersey Girl, I loved my 808 setup but found that I was constantly recharging batteries until I got my 650mah Volt X2 from Smokeless Image. Now I only have to charge once a day. I usually charge it before I go to bed, that way I have a fresh batt in the morning. Also the X2 can act as a passthrough while charging, just in case I want a midnight vape.

You've gotten some good suggestions such as the Riva and Kgo. But since you stated you wanted really good throat hit, I would suggest you look at a good 5 volt or variable volt model as well. The higher the volts, the warmer the vapor, the more like the real thing and the better the throat hit. I would not go the eGo route because it is only 3.4 volt which is smaller volt-wise than even a mini. Two that I would suggest for a new person is the 5 volt GLV2 and the new EVO which gives you three settings: 3.7 volt. 4.5 volts and 5.0 volts. The EVO is about the size of an eGo or Kgo. Here are several suppliers to consider:

GLV-2 Electronic Cigarette [GLV-2] - $120.00 : Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

V3 Vapors Premium Electronic Cigarette
