I know its a shot in the dark a couple months ago but its war in today's market. So post them up and will take a look. Any and all VV PV's at $50 or less Maybe $60. I am without and waiting on the mail man. This is not the first time but I had to consolidate and put my faith in the wrong PV.

Here is what I found as things to consider as a back up.

This one is only 2.5 amps but the price is good so I am posting this link. If you can beat $32 in a 18650 mod 2.5 amps or over then post it up. The only reason I have not picked this up is cause its only 2.5 amps. Could still work well with a carto tank for a back up though.
FreE-Volt Variable Voltage Tube Mod

Posting this as a bottom of the barrel mod with a price of only $16. Amps are unknown but it has good reviews. Prob cause the cost.
18650 Tube Mod - Steel

Then we have this one. Its everything I want but at the highest cost of the three. I know once I buy it I am going to see a better mod (same price) or a cheaper price on the same mod. So here it is.
Variable Volt Gripper

If anyone has anything to add I would love the input and links. Thanks in advance. Also the gripper is at DV and I wonder if anyone knows of a coupon code to MV or DV (discount Vapor).
PS I know this is a shot in the dark and I will probably go with the MV Gripper but money is hard to come by at the moment and I want to make sure I have the best plan and get the best deal I can. Thanks.

I've been using the VV Gripper for 5 days now and really enjoy itmore each day. I don't have any issues with a wobbly 510 connector, my fire button doesn't stick and the audible click isn't too loud. Though the Battery door seems a bit wonky and could be susceptible to breaking, no issues so far. It does take a bit of pressure to slide open, I just stick my fingernail in the gap behind the door and it will open easier.

An extender really isn't needed, my Ego-510 adapter screws on easily and my Kanger T2 sits flush on the unit. Did I tell you I really am loving this thing:vapor:, picked mine up @ madvapes $49.99

These couppla suggestions only work well if you already have appropriate batteries to keep the cost down.

I love the VariCool I got from SmokTek. You are gonna get performance out of this thing. But it will still set you back $54.95 SmokTek "SmokBox VariCool" - Custom Variable Volt Box Mod - Efficient switching regulator! adjustable 3,4,5,6.5 volt's & everything between. They do have an ECF coupon but I think it's only 5%.

The other one I'm looking at is the Ovale V8 at $24.95 For example: Sigelei Ovale V8 Body - Variable Voltage PV - 3-6 volt - black But I haven't researched this one yet.

What kind is the one in your pic?
Hey TNT. I really didn't know who made it. Someone said its a YJ but I cant be sure. I liked the 4 amp limit and the cost was only $40. I put my faith in this one PV and it was junk out of the box. This was one of them that went around people where saying was a ghost vape cause it used a 18650 in no time. I used 2 a day with mine every day over the week I had it. I dont think it was draining the battery when not in use. I think it was the + pin shorting to the rest of the cap.

So I had to pick up two more PV's so I have back up this time. I have the Telescope and the VV Gripper now. Love them both a lot more

Striker,

Your pic appears to show a Young-June chrome v2.0 Vtube. (If it were an L-Rider, it would have a red power button, not silver/chrome, and a spring-loaded positive pin in the connector).

From the looks of it, the unit went gone belly up for the same reason mine did---the 510 connector broke and the whole top connector/drip well eGo-style assembly detached from the body (it's just press-fit with a crude shim to provide enough pressure to hold it in place---not what I'd call awe-inspiring design or construction.)

Now I understand why these devices are sold with two-week warranties from the vendors.

This model was initially advertised (and still is by certain vendors) as having a 4-amp limit, but that was false (or, in more common parlance, a lie). Similarly, the SmokTech Gripper VV claims to be 4 amps but is only 3 amps, same as the Young-June chromes. That's sufficient power for vaping at most resistance/voltage combinations, but still---all these bogus claims are getting really tiresome.

For some reason, the chrome v2.0 uses battery power significantly faster than the black/silver v1.5t units. But, as you said, yours uses no power now. Mine too. LOL.

Very informative post billherbst. No question it a YJ then. I never had a way to test the actual out put but I did up voltage till it stopped feeling hotter. God only knows what it was but when I crunched the numbers it said 3.86 amps. Of course I have not way to prove it. Just seemed like a good number at the time. I did at least get my money back on it. Was not out a penny.

hey guys i to am looking for a cheap but decent vv pv i am looking at the gripper from madvapes but have not had good luck with plastic mods and just on the fence about the lavatubes...
Get the Gripper. Its one that I ended up going with and I love it. Also went with a Telescope and it was also under $50 and kicks .... with my DID on it. I use the Tele when im home and the Gripper when I am out. Both for under $100. Cant go wrong. Once my internet connection is upgraded I will be posting a YT review on both. Until then I grade both with a B+. Dont think I could have done any better in the price range.
