Hi all -
I managed to go a couple of days without any analogs and have enjoyed vaping. Unfortunately, I have started to notice a number of symptoms that others have attributed to PG allergies. The worst symptoms I've had were night sweats last night and a headache/tingling sensation in my head.

I am looking for comments from anyone who had a significantly unpleasant experience with PG that had their symptoms go away when they switched to VG.

Thanks all.

Sounds more like cigarette withdraw symptoms ----> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3305-list-symptoms-when-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

The only VG testimony I can give is negative.

High VG liquids make my chest feel tight & heavy up to a point where it feels as if an elephant is standing on my chest when I take a breath.
High VG liquids leave a coating in my mouth & throat, feel & taste best described as inhaling atomized used motor oil.
High VG liquids congest my sinuses, with continued use bring on sinus headaches.

IMO, PG gets a bad rap and is used as a scape goat / whipping post, Reactions to the flavorings are far more prevalent.

I agree with Topwater. Does sound like analog-withdrawal.

From what I've read, people tend to have issues with one or the other, or neither. May God have mercy on anyone who can't vape either, but I haven't heard of anyone like that yet.

When I first got into vaping I vaped 80PG/20VG. After about 2 weeks I got horrible dry, itchy, scaly spots on my legs, arms, and ankles. If I vaped PG my stomach would get queasy, and I generally felt unwell. This unfortunately made me quit vaping for sometime. Symptoms disappeared after 1-2 weeks. When I started again I went 100% VG and I have none of the issues that Elvis stated.

I love my 100% VG.

Now if I vape PG at any ratio I can actually taste it. Like "Oh? What's that underlying chemical weirdness I taste?" *Looks at bottle* "Oh, it's PG"

My advice is to stick with 50/50 and see how that works for you. If not, try a higher PG or VG ratio. If still not, go higher still or even 100% PG or 100% VG. Once you find the ratio that works for you, you'll have no problems.

Vaping sometimes takes a few days to get used to. I used to get a high-heart-rate and mild headaches after my first sessions of vaping, which gradually disappeared. Could be analog withdrawal, too. Give it some time! You could try to reduce the PG - but allergic reactions might be related to other substances, too. You can try to vape some straight PG to see if it bothers you by itself.

As lay persons untrained in medicine we should be careful about diagnosing allergies. If you have reason to believe that you are suffering from an allergic reaction to anything the best advice is to eliminate the suspected source immediately and seek medical advice.

I whole heartedly agree! ANY type of "allergic reaction" symptoms should be confirmed/denied by trained medical personnel. You are risking your health by NOT seeking qualified medical advice. Please do not put yourself at further risk by continuing ANY activity that causes symptoms, without proper medical counsel.

HTH!

Wow that's a good amount of research/information. Glad that some sort of data is being compiled about those that were smokers switching to vapor. Even if it's not done by a medical research institute, the collaboration of personal experiences and side affects for others to see is a great resource!
