Hello all, I normally do my homework to high standard before getting into a new hobby but I must say this is overwhelming even for me, so if anyone can steer me in the right direction gratitude be to you.

I have seen enough to know that vaping is for me, my wife wants in and a mate at work wants in as well. So I need to order 3 kits. I initially was going to opt for three starter kits but we are all going to take the plunge and order 3 of the same kits along with a months supply of juice. I am the lowest common denominator as I have the largest draw being 6 feet 7" in height ,weighing in at 155Kg and smoking over 50 rolled 22mg cigs a day. If I am satisfied the other two will be.

This is what I am looking for.

highest vapor supply.
longest battery life.
can be refilled with juice.
manual operation.

So far the Joyce 510 seems to be a good choice...any thoughts?

Thanks

Hello vault and welcome. The Joye 510 is not a bad kit to start with, but the battery life leaves something to be desired. Something on the line of 2-3 hours between charges. Probably less for a 50 cig a day habit.

If you go with a Joye Ego, or a Riva 510 you can get 6-8 hours of heavy use between charges. They are manual, have a long battery life and the carts can be refilled. Also very good vapor production and throat hit, depending somewhat on what type of juice you use.

The price for Ego or Riva kits range from USD 30 to USD 70 depending on where you order it from. That would include everything you need to get started EXCEPT the juice.

Good luck. I heard there is a heavy fine for possession of nicotine juice down under. Just a rumor?

Skip the little 510 batteries and buy an eGo or Riva 510 kit. You will eventually anyways. The battery life of the little battery isn't very good. The eGo or Riva will get you 4-6 hours or longer between charges and with the 510, you have plenty of options to try. Definitely get a couple boxes of Boge standard resistance cartomizers. No fuss, just fill and go. Simple as that. Good luck with whatever you purchase.

Thanks so much for the advise. Ended up ordering a little different to what I thought I would. My wife was real hesitant and ordered some disposables. I got two units of the 510T plus a spare battery for each and a few bottles of different flavors. Pity about the battery life. But the prices are so good that if it takes a few purchases to get it right I am still way in front. a Pack of 25 cigs down here costs $18.70Us. As to the person who questioned the legality of liquid in OZ. An info site that directed me to this site states that it is illegal to sell the juice in this country but legal to privately import. But I also know that our customs can do what they please.

Thanks

Joye 510 manual is a great little ecig especially with Boge cartomizers instead on cart+atty (most people find carts annoying).

But when you talk about long battery life, the "highest vapor supply" (you mean the juice? or the vapor?) then no.

The longest battery life and most vapor would be the fat battery models that do not look like a cigarette. A Joye 510 is 180mah (or about 1-3 hours battery charge, or 280mah with the long mega xl batteries) and an Ego or Riva 510 fat battery model is 650-1100mah depending on battery size.

The most vapor supply - if you mean the most juice supply, that would be juice boxes, rectangular ecigs with juice bottles in them. If you mean the most vapor, that would probably be fat battery models w/ LR parts and higher voltage mods.

Within slim ecigs - 510 manuals have a great totally sealed threaded end so they are safe for the dripping method and safe from any leaks from cartomizers and those are the two most popular methods of vaping. There are also new 510-T atty+tanks but the tanks hold 1/2 what a cartomizer holds. I use dripping to test juices and use Boge cartomizers for most of my regular vaping (and 510 needs the standard resistance ones). 510 threading has the widest variety of stuff available for it - lots of different atomizers and blank cartomizers. A lot of that stuff is LR (low resistance) and can only be used on fat-battery 510 models with 450mah+ batteries. But even the slim batteries have the most stuff of any slim model.

I think my favorite thing to vape is manual 510 + Boge cartomizer. but I do carry a charged Riva battery with me just in case I get caught short for battery power or screw up charging while out in my 510 PCC (nice one from NoSmokeVA.com). I would definitely be vaping the long mega xl 510 manuals except that PCC is so nice and only holds the short ones. I vape a bit on the Riva battery during the day (it hits warmer and a bit bigger even with the standard resistance carto) and that also helps my short 510 batteries last longer.

I think whatever you buy first should have a very popular threading, have widely available supplies as well as reasonable prices, and be flexible so you can try different methods of vaping. The threading that is right for that in the US is 510 threading on everything from standard Joye 510 through Ego and Riva 510 though 510-threaded mods.

But sometimes other countries have different stuff that is most available. Once you have 5 non-spammed posts or replies in New Members and wait about an hour, then you can post in the Australia and other sections of ECF. meanwhile - read the Australia forum and see what most people are vaping.

Thanks everyone, by the sound of it I may already regret my purchase seeing as how low the battery life is but I was in a real hurry to buy so I can get off analogs. Thats Ok, like I said before, in the end I feel it will be worth it. So being that I purchased a 510 threaded model, can I beef it up in any way? bigger battery? Now of the to the jargon thread to look up "PV" :)

Edit: LOL hover the mouse pointer over it...got it.

Its a slow learning process, but you'll do fine. You were lucky enough to come here first and so you've already saved yourself some money not buying cheap junk (like a lot of us did). As for "branching out", with the 510 threads you can try most anything, direct dripping, cartomizers, atomizers and carts, tanks. Just about everything will fit the 510. So anything you have now or buy in future will work just fine if you decide to upgrade to the larger batteries like the Riva (assuming you stay with the 510 threads).

P.S. You should avoid the LR stuff until you get bigger batteries, the small (180 mAh) don't do well with LR

I just got my riva 901 from liberty flights and this thing is killer. Good battery life, and it works great with 808 cartomizers. I wish I would of bought this in the first place. I have been vaping for a few weeks and this is my third kit. I wish it was my first. Only 29.99 for two batts 5 cartridges two atomizers. They include a low resistance atomizer to try out too.
