After two years of vaping, including various large mods, my current favorite is the 1100 mAh Riva. Its like a longer eGo type fat-batt (Riva is the East Mall product, but its also called the KGO, by SLB):

KGO (Riva) 1100mAh Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit - $54.95

The Riva gives about 0.6V more to the atty/carto than the eGo, although it should be very similar to your kr808. Both are about 3.8V, although the Riva can be as high as 4.2V right off the charger. Compared to the eGo this makes a big difference in heat and vapor. You could use your kr808 cartos on it, but you will need an adapter to make the threadings match. Madvpes sells these. My fave cartos are either Boge 2.0 ohm soft-tips or Smoke Tech dual-coil 1.6 ohm cartos with a drip tip (I like the anodized Al ones). I have not used an atty in about 6 months. I am primarily 510, not kr808, so...

Perhaps more to YOUR liking and to match with your current hardware: the Echo:

The Echo Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit - $49.95

Looks like a Riva, but with kr808 threads. Sizes from 650 - 1100 mAh.

Both the Echo and the Riva batts will require their own chargers, but you get one with a kit, and extras are generally around $8. I like the Riva batt so much I have about 6 now, and I can charge them on a 510 multi-charger using a 510 extension:

510 TITAN/TORNADO E-NIC 10 Battery MEGA Charger

TORNADO-Battery-Mains Charger Adaptor x 5 Multi Pack

Others sell these too for a little cheaper, but my 5-batt charger from them lasted almost 2 years of heavy use, and they stand by their products and have great customer service.

With an LR carto my 1100 mAh batts last me about 8 hours of pretty heavy vaping, but if you are lighter you might gets a day or more. To get more you than 1100 mAh you will need to go with a "tube" or "box" mod that uses something like the 18650 battery, which is 2600 mAh. These are larger and heavier than the Riva/Echo. I have a few of these: the Noego, the 510N and the Shine. Nice mods, but for sheer oomph I keep coming back the the Riva.

A wise and comprehensive answer by Kurt! I'll just add a clarification and an additional suggestion.

The Echo Kr8-compatible fat batt has an automatic battery, like your current Kr8, but unlike most other fat batts (e.g., eGo, Riva, KGo). And it is an excellent auto batt: completely reliable battery engaging with moderate draw, 3.7V (like most Kr8s and the Riva and KGO, but more than the eGo's 3.2V), and up to 1300 mAh (depending on which version you choose). [The only thing I don't like about auto batteries is that, by necessity, they are unsealed. It is unwise to fill your cartomizer without first removing it from the battery. Too often, I forget.]

If a 380 mAh battery and 2ml capacity cartomizer is a sufficient enough upgrade, I strongly recommend CigEasy's Elite 808. It is now my favorite PV ... and I've got a lot of them. I enumerated my rationale in my recent review.

BTW, I don't think much of "attys and cartridges [or tanks] vs cartos" ... unless you use those attys for direct dripping (i.e., without ineffective cartridges or mediocre tanks) or with juice feeder mods. [An exception to the tank dislike are those large tanks that surround a cartomizer, e.g., J-Tank, MAP Tank, Liquinator, or VPX Cartomator, which I've not used, but about which have read/viewed great things.]
