I've got one and I agree on the taste. Horrible and as I posted on another thread, rather like smoking a lit paper straw.

Isn't it obvious the built-in atomizer wire is burning some of the filler material? That's Bad with a capital B. The antis will be protesting second-hand filler smoke!
I dont think that the filler material is burning, maybe other peoples description of the taste is making it seem this way, but i have pulled apart 3 cartridges now and none of them show any sign of burning. I am hopeing that the cartridges that they send as standard just have a really bad taste.
Oh, I hope so, too. This is a superb idea that could be ruined by poor execution.
I'm inclined to agree with mixos' summation, there doesn't seem to be any sign of burnt wadding in his latest vid, and there also doesn't appear to be any signs of a fabric material in the core of the atomizer. So it does seem to to point to there being a fundimental problem with the juice being used ... Is it a different formulation ? I'm thinking it might very well be that. This is a radical departure from the "normal" design of atomizer we are used to using.
The heating coil is in direct contact with the wadding.
The life of this thing is outstanding.
I think a new lower density PG has been used, or perhaps diluted to create the mist
The liquid used in this device is completely different from what has been used before.
I still come back to my thoughts on basic atomizer operation, except on this model the juice is pulled into a central veritical hollow core to gain contact with the heating element instead of micro drops from a surrounding basket.
This is a bold new design... does it measure up ?
I'm still in two minds about that, I need to own and use one for a period of time. And I also need to muck about refilling it to give an honest apraisal of it. The refilling part is to primarily to see if I can improve the existing flavour and also to see if the juice in the original carts is different in behaviour to the refilled ones. Only use will tell.

If nothing was indeed smoldering (and you don't need smoke or burnt brown polyester for something to smolder and melt) why would they develop a taste like this? they make eliquid and have made other carts. what other tastes and eliquid may be doing is just "covering up" the smoldering taste so the user thinks everything is fine and dandy when in reality its not.
conclusion ...
1. was this product thoroughly tested? if it was, God knows testers would tell them straight up about the taste.
2. they already produced such large amounts of the current atomizer/carts, they are off loading them on unsuspecting buyers so they can still make a profit instead of throwing them in the trash.
3. reality is, this company makes lots of different flavors, why pick a flavor like this in the first place.
4. refilling with a stronger eliquid or a more flavorful eliquid will just mask what is really going on.

it isnt a new design.its the same design atomiser as the one from the loongtotem at the end of last year.
the real question is,have they been able to cure the smouldering of the material problem,whether through using modified liquid or different material...thats what I want to know.

Read the other loong thread with Mixos' review- he didn't get any burning and at htis point says he thinks it's just the lousy liquid used that gives the terrible taste- he's currently wating on different taste atomizers fro mthem and htis will tell if it's the liquid that is causing it. Both his atomizers that he tore apart didn't show sifngns of burning
woops scratch all that- I see others answered htis already- I'm always a day late-dollar hsort lol

They did cancel my order when I requested it- although I'm still abotu to buy one I think- but their site is so darbn confusing- I wanted to order the smaller batteries, as well as different flavor cartridges, but I couldn't find anyplace to do that either in the checkout cart or the payment process- I've noticed that two people have now said that fillifn hte core with other E-liquid helped the taste some (I think the reason it didn't help alot though is because the awful taste of the default liquid already present overpowered the refill liquid taste.) Maybe the way to order is to get just the $99 kit without hte Cartridges, and order the 50 cartridges seperate with hte flavor you want

i really hope it tastes better with different liquid,and that theyve sorted out the smouldering problems,and that every cart lasts for a long time and gives good vapour...but we dont know any of that yet..
only when we have that info will we know if its worth considering spending that kind of money on it,or if its just not worth it after all.

Well, I'm goign ot go out on a limb, and say that the traditional penstyle that I am using is almost not worth it as my atomizers have been performing very badly and keep dying in short amounts of time- i'll get a couple of good days of vaporizing, but hten htey start goign downhill and it's a pain in the can tryign everythign to keep them from dying-
I really wish I had known abotu hte loongtotem before I purchased my penstyles (I got two penstyles)- woudl rather deal with the taste and have the thigns workign well than to deal with dying astomizer after dying atomizer. i've spent about $400-$500 already on the penstyles and have been nothign but frustrated with hte performances. I would have much rather spent my time tryign to alter the taste of the loong and having htem bellowing vapor consistently than puffing like a madman tryign ot get a decent enough vapor from the penstyles I have-
there have been days my jaw literally ached puffign so long trying to nurse dying atomizers long, and I feel bad about constasntly emailing SmartFixx tellign htem yet again that my atomizers have crapped out- they prolly gonna think somethign is up after awhile, but hte fact is, the penstyle atomizers simply are not ready for the market yet as far as I;'m concerned. The loong seems at least much more ready for hte market- despite the taste issue.

Seruiously though, I don't think there is anythign bad in these loongs, I think their basic liquid consists of safe enough products (At least I'm really hoping they use safe PG/Glycerin/flavor- the other products i nthe device seem to just be plastic, wire, metal, and some kind of paper or cloth- ofc course there's always hte possibility that soemthign in hte plastic is bad for us, and perhaps the PG or glycrin they use use cheaper ingredienmts that might be bad for us- China isn't overly known for their safety concerns- but I think the product is probably ok (Famous last words eh?)
I'm not going near this till it's available ex-China (and not from a shaved gorilla)
only seem to receive one email a day about 4.ooam in the uk they still are going on about the 50 cartridges to send me the charger etc foc
i asked how much an additional e cig plus 50 cartridges for my partner would be to see if i could get the shipping of that thrown in but they told me the shipping was going to be 35usd no mention of just sending the charger etc on it's own.
