I just tried a half and half VG and Sassafras but it was too thick. Since I don't have any plain PG yet so I added a couple drops of Bickford's blackberry. I wanted this one just Sassafras, but the berry taste didn't override the rootbeer flavor like I was afraid of. It's quite yummy, like candy but more subtle than the Bavarian creme. I will go with a little more Sassafras next time.

It was still on the thick side. Does anyone know if there are any problems with using a thicker mixture aside from taking more time to soak into the core?
Sunshyn....A thicker liquid might "gum-up" your atomizer a bit.You might want to thin it out with some distilled water.Hopefully you won't lose any vapor! The Wiz!

You might try picking up the LorAnn Sassafras. It's a flavor very close to rootbeer, though isn't as well known. Contents say just artificial flavorings. It's the best smelling one of the batch I got in yesterday, but I'm still juggling utensils and cartridges so haven't managed to try it yet. It smells wonderful!

Awwww... thanks for posting what sassafras is similar too! :) I'm NOT a root beer fan... and in fact I don't drink soda at all. More an issue with not liking carbonation than flavors.. but am not fond of root beer or cola (and still ordered cola e-juice just to be sure... didn't like it!)

I bet the sassafras will appeal to lots of root beer lovers though!!

Sunshyn -- You can thin down your liquid just adding a little distilled water, until you get the liquid the thickness you want it. :)

Edit: LOL! Vapor Wizard... now I know I'm up tooooo late.. I see you already suggested the distilled water!

Sorry Lu! I knew it was either you or Rejoice that posted the links... but wasn't sure it was in this thread to find the post I was thinking of to get the source! I do hope that someone tries the flavors from the new sources... would love to hear how they are! I most likely will try some once I get a chance to try out all of the LorAnn flavors I still haven't mixed up! :p

I posted that link mixxy, but I haven't tried them yet. I wish someone would and let us know how they are! :p

Here's another one too. If you click on the flavor, the ingredients are listed at the top, under the name. Haven't tried them either yet:

faerie's finest - extracts and liquid flavors

$6 for shipping.

Happy mixing! :D

I haven't read this whole thread yet, but just looked up Key Lime on Lorann and found: "Key Lime Flavor
Product Number:0412-0100
Kosher Certified. Contains: Natural Flavors. Insoluble in water. Appropriate for use in chocolates and coatings"

Insoluble in water is bad, right? I love Key Lime!! Darn!

One thing I would like to add is that if you visit sciencelab.com and view a MSDS for "Red-40" it came up with some quite severe side effects as a result of inhalation of pure dye. Many other manufacturers that have it as an inclusion in their product, unfortunately, don't have to list the cause/effect of an ingredient, just how their own specific product reacts in a circumstance. Reading up on how the dye effects children (links to severe Attention Deficit Disorder, behavorial issues) I would probably say that vaping it is a bad idea.

I'm not a doctor, by any means - but since I work with hazardous chemicals (embalming fluids) I'd not trust huffing the stuff and I'm more than alittle familiar with MSD sheets.

Just got my orAnn oils in. Trying out Clove right now. I wish i had some Marlboro E-Liquid. Add a drop or two of this clove oil and you're golden. :D It's a nice flavor on it's own. I also got menthol and wintogreen. Next up is rootbeer, followed by a mixture of raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, and cherry. yup, all mixed up. can't wait to try, i'll post my results.

Oh, I didn't notice that it was insoluble in water. I have used some and it worked fine for me ... a little too fine actually, it is very strong.

So are we saying now that the 'insoluble in water' flavors are ok to use (barring other no-no's)?

RS--there is no doubt that using insouluble base flavorings will kill your atomizer. Take it from people that have bitten the dust with these flavors. Please do not ruin your good atomizer--Sun

Sun, I am wondering how much damage to my atomizers can occur using 1 or 2 drops of "partially insuluble" flavoring per 4ml of vg/distilled water? It doesn't seem like alot but concerned anyhow. Someone will have to update the LorAnn's list of possible no-no's to include these insoluble flavors. Thanks!:) The Wiz!

Wiz--with the work we have been doing studying and testing atomizer failures, I can tell you that the use of partially insoluable ingrediants will shorten as demise your atomizer. A video on atomizer failure is about to be released here very soon and it will make a lot of sense once you see it--Sun

Damn. I was just browsing around the LorAnn site and happened to check the details on that yummy sassafras flavor. It says insoluble in water there, though that's not mentioned on the bottle. :sigh: I apologize to anyone I gave bad advice to with that. It was on a list of flavors that are ok which I found on this forum . :(

I guess I'll follow Wiz's lead and use it only with a "crappy" atomizer and more as a special treat. But it really is very yummy.
