So I sort of did an experiment today with my Orion. I was on a 4 wheeler and it was cold outside so I had a jacket on and put the Orion in my pocket. The area I was in has about a 350' high hill which is damn near vertical, as I was just nearing the top I heard something hit the rack on the back of the 4 wheeler, turned to look and watched that little Orion Take a Huge tumble down the entire length of the hill. It was like watching a Cirque Du Soleil tumbler as it bopped and weaved past trees and rocks all the way down. I figured awww crap there goes $75 down the toilet. I turned around and headed back down the hill, figuring I would never find it. To my amazement, there it was upside down glistening (good thing I got a blue one) in the sea of grass at the bottom of the hill. I checked it out and it looked fine sans a few minor scratches. I banged the dust off and took a drag off it to get a pleasant earthy mouthful of hill dirt...Yummy NOT.... Otherwise it was just fine. Can not believe it didn't come apart or get more messed up after the number of bounces it took. Anyway just had to share that as it was kind of funny when it happened. Kudos to lost vape. I am fairly certain not many vape devices of any type could have survived that fall. Just wish I had gotten it on video.....
LOL. As I said somewhere, this Orion strikes me as a mini Provari, which are tough as nails. Though I was referring to the build and its quality. Maybe true too for the toughness.

I do use stevia and monk fruit in foods on occasion, but because of the aftertaste I typically just use sucralose for foods and drinks. The solutions that I use for eliquids are from NN and I pretty much exclusively use them over all other sweeteners. I've tried erythritol in the past and I've found it just doesn't have enough sweetness to really give me the strength that I like (I'm a southerner, so I usually like my juices to be really sweet like my iced tea), but stevia and monk fruit are perfect for my tastes.

In small quantities, I don't really get any aftertaste at all with stevia and I find it to be pretty comparable to sucralose. Monk fruit tends to have a slight taste to it--I'm not the best at describing tastes, but it sort of has a slightly nutty/fruity taste to it if the concentration is high enough. Strangely enough, I think it tastes great when I use it with mint-flavored recipes and I find myself using it over stevia on most occasions.

I can also say that coil life that I get with either of those so much better compared to sucralose and when it comes to pods I want to maximize the life of my pods as much as I can so I highly recommend them if DIY is your thing.
I don't want to vape sucralose, since I have my doubts about its
healthfulness in food, as well as vape.
So, when I see juices which sound good to me, I ask the manufacturer if they use it.
Some answer, some don't (too bad for them, since I'll never get their liquids.)
But anyway, one company replied saying that they'll never use sucralose because it very quickly (versus no sweetener, or versus more natural ones) gunks up the coils. So, your point is right on.

Mine came over the weekend and I like it. Got the silver/carbon fiber one. Been using the .5 pod right now and have had a satisfying vape in the middle power setting. My one complaint is the micro usb cable that came with the device is not for transferring data, it is just a charge cable. Was no big deal as I had many data cables lying around but for the money and the fact that it is a DNA device, they should have sent the proper cable. Other than that, no complaints.

anyone have a mac? Escribe won't connect to the mod. I'm using the same cable I use for all my other DNA devices.
Not using a mac but it took 6 cables to find one which connected to the device. Not sure what the deal is with that. Also I have 4 usb ports on my laptop and only 1 will work to transfer data to escribe. Strange

I just ordered another one. Love this thing!!!!! Went Gold Abalone this time and some more .5 pods as it seems they are selling out fast.
this is my worry. I read somewhere around here that lost vape only makes a certain number of a product and that’s it. This could be very bad if they stop making pods. I’m starting to wonder about whether the pods can be rewicked or not.

Mac here. I've connected in both Yosemite and Mojave with no issues using whatever USB cable I happened to have sitting nearby at the time.

Once was on a 4 year old MacBook air, the other times on a far newer MBP, no problems with either..

Earlier in the thread, theres a link to a new version of EScribe. If you haven't downloaded, that's likely the problem.

if the cable works for my other devices there's no reason for it not to work for this thing. Kind of annoying.
And ya I hope lv continues to support this. Getting parts for my therion bfs and my drone are pretty impossible now.

This is the best pod tho out of the box.

I'd be pretty surprised if we have that problem here. Lost Vape does continue to change their lineup, but they are also a reputable company and they certainly understand the need to keep this in production or risk damaging their reputation pretty severely.

There are also ways to evolve the base product to some extent while not actually making physical / dimensional changes to the pods itself. Dumb example maybe, but Apple is on their 4th generation of Apple Watch and all bands since the original are still compatible.

Personally, I think they'll be available for a good while. I'd also be willing to bet that they will sell FAR more of these than anything else they've offered to-date. Pods should be a cash cow.

Not saying it can't be done, but given the current design the pods would be way more hassle than its worth to crack open and re-wick IMO.

Yeah it would definitely be a last resort “but I can’t get em anymore” kind of thing and would probably involve a dremel and some sort of regasketing. True pita.

Well Lost Vape mods have been a favorite of mine for over two years. I really like their products. And they do tend to make only so many of one model and may do another production run or two and then move on to something else. Although they do keep some models for like forever, like the Therion. I wouldn't have guessed they would have pushed that one for so long. Although they do look very nice. I own 4 of them myself but they are all 75C squonkers. The only Therion mods I would buy since they don't have a Paranormal styled one.

The one with the shortest life of all Lost Vape mods that I know of was the Drone DNA250. Even used Drones are like impossible to find since those that has one won't give them up. Luckily Lost Vape is coming out one year later with an updated one called a Drone 250C. I won't miss out this time and I'll probably grab 4 of those when they come out in the next few weeks.

Although I do agree with Vapor2112 and I don't think Lost Vape will stop manufacturing pods anytime soon. Pods are a huge business in the vaping market. And the Orion is all they have right now. Unless Lost Vape comes out with another pod mod, I don't see the Orion going anywhere. :)
