Seriously, I wish we could do this with a little less hypocrisy.

That would be nice, sure. I'm the first person to be hating on hypocrisy. That's why I just answered his questions one at a time at first. For myself, I just don't want to be that "Don't do it" person, when I'm doing it. But lets just look at the facts for a moment. I think all of us are doing it to stop smoking, even the ones who still smoke.

But I've come to the realization that I enjoy smoking too much, and I'm probably never going to quit. If I were 15 and just had my first cigarette last week, it would be easier for me to stop, because I didn't enjoy having a cigarette back then. I just did it for whatever reasons. After it becomes part of your life, the situation changes. I, for one, am happy to have something that I can turn to that helps me to stay off of the true evil that can, and most likely will, kill me. Even if it doesn't, quality of life is diminished. So, if I'm going to enjoy the activity (remember, it's a lifestyle at this point), I may as well be able to enjoy it. Keeping us off of cigarettes is the most important thing.

So, OP. Please think about this. I'm changing my tune. Don't do it. For all of us.

To Traceur, take what Michael has to say to heart. This really is serious business, never mind how much we're enjoying our new toys and flavors. It keeps us off of something that was killing us, and that's why we do it.

Glad to see that you'll be using 0 nic. There's no reason in the world for you to start that. As been said, it's a completely pointless drug. Caffeine does more for you than nic, and that's still pointless, but I'll live with it (as I'm gulping my 30 oz coffee). But remember, the jury is still out on these things, and our strongest argument is that it's safer than cigs. You can't use that argument, as you're not an addict. It's a dangerous game for non addicts to start this habit.

By the way, I'm Michael too. Just thought I'd say. :)

You forgot the fact that they aren't totally sure that it's safe to inhale the flavors, PG, or VG, because even though we can eat it, they can have a different effects on our lungs or as vapor rather than ingesting into the stomach, etc. Some flavors are known to cause some people problems, though many just blow it off, and some people have bad reactions to either PG or VG.

Didn't phrase that right, sorry, I was referencing flavors that have Diacetyl in them, which can cause problems with vaping. A lot of us still use them anyway, at our own risk, usually with the thought that at least it's not a cigarette...which drives some people on this board nuts :p

Thank you Michael. Dumb question I guess, but why do you say it's dangerous for me to start this habit? Even if I use zero nic?

Miscommunication there I suspect. I don't find it inherently dangerous, especially if you're using 0 nic. I don't see a point in starting a nicotine addiction when it can be avoided. but then i'ts not like any of the rest of us had a good excuse either, right?

My feeling is if someone is going to start something, it's better to start the least harmful. I guess that's probably because I don't buy into the whole 'gateway' theory on everything.
