Good morning and Happy Earth Day. Today, I will be back out in the shop working on the picnic table. The design stage is always a challenge and one I enjoy. I have a picture in my head and getting the wood to do what I want is the struggle. Sure there are easy ways I could make them but I'm not after easy.

Morning, misfits.

All I'm going to say is the states in which these demonstrations occurred will probably see a sharp increase in their positive cases within two weeks. But I doubt those idiots will put two and two together.

Sad, but true. If they could add, they could see that when cases are still going up, it's not the time to back off. :-x

Meantime,

BBCA is one of the best channels I am watching in addition to NGW......fascinating stuff!

We took a drive this morning, and ended up at Lowe's........strict enforcement is being enforced but I brought my 'Wet Ones' with me anyway.....we take our walks, but being at the Lowe's nursery gave me a feeling of normality, so it was a good trip.

Our county opened up the beaches for a limited amount of time each day.....no way are we going.....think it was a huge mistake to open up especially before we see the peak........I just can't fathom that anyone with common sense would go.

I can’t find any channel in my area that will broadcast the Jon Bon Jovi fundraiser tonight. We have cable and I thought for sure I could get it. I’m dissapointed.

If you can't get direct access on local TV channels - there are a few other ways via the internet . . .

1) By live streaming one of these stations on your computer so Ya' can watch and listen to the benefit on . . . Already checked and they all offer a Watch Live Stream channel on their websites:

Philadelphia TV:
6ABC, CBS3, NBC10, and Fox 29

New Jersey/New York TV: WABC7, CBS2, NBC4, WPIX 11, WWOR 9, News 12, WNJU, and NJTV
Or - 2) If Ya' have a Streaming Smart TV/Smart Phone or Roku:

Streaming: Apple Music and Apple TV/Apple TV Plus
(Also - They do offer 7 Day Free Trail and/or cost $4.99 per month access: Apple TV+ . . . BTW: Apple TV+ streaming select originals for free during COVID-19 quarantines)

3) Many Social media posts will also be shared with the hashtag #jersey4jersey.

Also - Ya' can check out this Google search:

Hope this information is helpful . . . Just Sayin' . . .

you hit the nail on the head. The idiots who made the decision to open the beaches and the idiots who went to the beaches don’t have common sense.

I voiced my take on the "Open the USA Back Up" yesterday .. as an addendum to that ::

IMO, the planned "Reopenings" are kind of a misnomer, designed to put a good spin on some Politicos that want to tout something or other .. from what I've gathered, the bulk of America is not really on board ..

It appears that the "Social Distancing" issue still is expected, though likely not enforced .. I don't think there is going to be any major Sports / Entertainment gatherings coming up .. if an Eatery is allowed to open inside, will they have to space tables 6' or more apart .. ?? Casinos are whining pretty heavy, so I don't know how that works .. Movie Theaters are whining .. Schools are not reopening .. it was funny, to me anyway, that one local Newscaster actually said something to the effect of "Parents are just not used to dealing with their kids like this .." which kind of says it all about the Mom's carrying picket signs ..

They all want a "bailout" yet some are apparently willing to take the risk, so if they get a "bailout", maybe they will need another later ..

It's our money fueling the Feds Printing Presses, and you can mark my word that the day of reckoning on that will come .. I emailed all the local Council Members, the Mayor as well as the County Board ..

"Dear So and So ..

I'm not an economist, but the unprecedented times with which we are currently experiencing has me worried. One of my worries is how the City as well as the County, will fare financially as time goes by. The major loss of revenue due to forced closures and property tax time coming up in the future, to me, are a perfect storm waiting to happen. I don't know what the future holds, but I'd bet it's going to require some belt tightening. Hard choices will likely need to be made.

It is my hope that the Leadership is taking a pro-active approach.

States and cities are "falling off a cliff" as the economic crisis sets in

I know, in general, things are a tightrope walk right now. However, the near future will get here sooner than later. I'm sure you are grappling with these issues right now. Or, at least I hope you are .."

Do you think I got a single reply .. ?? Dead air, that's it .. Why .. ?? Because if they replied, it would acknowledge they got my message ..

The hard reality is, there is going to be economic fallout from the Local to the National level .. and I don't think the Fed can bail this one out in the near term ..

Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul is going to hit, and hit big time ..

Magnificent! And quite a gorgeous display!

OMG! My daughter just showed me an article about a guy that made mini squirrel picnic tables the squirrels his yard. I know what I'm doing tomorrow. I'm going to make one to hang in my tree near the bird feeder. I'll post a pic when I finish the first one.

Jerry

Oh man And here we are trying to figure out how to get rid of our squirrels so they don't eat all the food for the birds!!

Good morning

Thank God the sun is out this morning; seems to be the only bright spot in today's troubling climate!
Hoping you are all well!
Offering a bit of a bright spot! Hope you enjoy! Glorisia Lily

Wow! Beautiful!

I miss those tiger lilies. All these moves have reduced my gardening. I once grew over 1200 roses along with many other plants. Now I have about 10 roses and a few bulbs..

1200 roses! You mean all at once? Were they in greenhouses? You must have had a great deal of room for all those roses plus many other plants! And pictures?

Not a huge place, just no grass, all plants. I had a lot of pics but lost many when my old computer crashed. The ones I have had in my avi are all from the garden.

Good morning. Yesterday I had a pleasant surprise. My glasses have nose pads that are digging into my nose and making it sore. It turns out the glasses shop at our ophthalmologist office is open by appointment. I went over and had the glasses adjusted which helped some, but was able to order a whole new pair of glasses for 1/2 the price of my last couple pairs. It helped that I chose frames that were only $158. The new ones don't have nose pads and they're transitions. Seems that after having the cataract surgery everything is so bright that it's necessary to switch to sunglasses often. Hopefully the new ones will be ready on Tues so I'm excited. They say the new transition lenses are much improved so we'll see.

    Good morning! :)

It's pleasant weather here this morning!

Janet, yes, everything is brighter after cataract surgery and remains that way. I'm still in awe how my eyesight has improved when I'm driving. I have a very dark pair of sunglasses I wear outside which protect my eyes well! I do need readers for close work, but that's OK; wore them before surgery, so am quite used to it.

We're keeping as busy as possible here so we'll be taking a ride again this morning. Traffic is so light, it will spoil us for the time when things get back to normal, whatever 'normal' will be.

It's funny, but when the doc first told me I needed cataract surgery I thought she was nuts. Boy was I wrong! What a difference! I even discovered my bathroom sink wasn't cream colored. It's white!! All colors are more vibrant! I think it just creeps up on you so gradually that you don't realize how bad the old eyes are getting. And I don't have all those floaters either! Having the cataracts is sort of like wearing sunglasses so when that's fixed everything is so much brighter and you really need sunglasses. It's frustrating and very inconvenient to be switching glasses every time I go from inside to outside so I'm hoping the transitions takes care of that. I just want glasses I can stick on my face in the morning and not have to take them on and off throughout the day.

    Morning, misfits. :)

Another soggy day here, so the dandelions will get a running start. A bit of sun in the 'cast for tomorrow, then rain for a week.

I think it just creeps up on you so gradually that you don't realize how bad the old eyes are getting.

That it does! Wife had both done some years back (no, NOT at the same time! ), and she'd been cleaning her glasses hourly for a few years, thinking they were dirty. And the need for shades did go way up, after. And I have it creeping up in just one eye, been tracking it for several years, not yet time.

I was told I don't need the cat surgery yet but another concern is a droopy lid. I had surgery for that years ago but it is back. What happens is toward evening (tired eyes), one eyelid closes and I have to struggle to keep it open. Always something as we get older but I can't complain, I have been lucky overall.
