Bandleader Jon Bon Jovi — who has been working five days a week at his JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, feeding the in-need population affected by the crisis — is set to perform from his New Jersey home this Wednesday night (April 22) for the “Jersey 4 Jersey” fundraiser. Scheduled for April 22 and organized by the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, the benefit will also feature Bruce Springsteen, Halsey, Charlie Puth, SZA, Tony Bennett, Kelly Ripa, Jon Stewart, Danny Devito, Whoopi Goldberg, Chelsea Handler, Chris Rock and more.

I've mentioned previously that I know most, if not all of you, kind of like to keep things all sweetness and light, however, I can't help it when grim reality enters my Mind and I can't get it out ..
'60 Minutes' did a piece on Sunday on NYC and it's dealing with the dead .. refrigerated trailers lined up outside Hospitals, the emotional toll on health workers, etc ..
What struck me deeply was the clip where unclaimed bodies and those whose Loved Ones could not afford a proper Funeral were being interred in Potter's Field, with large trenches and bulldozers covering the plain wood pine caskets, lined up in the trench in mass ..
I cried, and I'm not ashamed to admit it .. yes, I'm sure NYC and other areas have had this issue pre-virus, however, it just hit me so hard, seeing those images .. and, I then thought about the horrific scenes in New Orleans around the Dome in the aftermath of Katrina .. which had also caused me to shed a tear or two ..
That led me to think about the "Open the USA Back Up" movement .. I'm no Scientist, I don't have any answers, but it just seems to me that the overly used statement "We're All in This Together" flies in the face of what the "Open the USA Back Up" movement is demanding .. maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but it seems to me, this says "We're Not All in This Together" ..
There is no one more weary of the current scenario than me .. no one would like to see things returned to some degree of normalcy than me .. yet, I resign myself to what the experts suggest we do, because they are the experts ..
There has been a great degree of damage done, not just in the cost of lives, but the Economic Engine as well .. and that damage will continue to reverb through our lives for some time to come .. In the Past, Americans have been known for self-sacrifice, yet, I suppose there is a limit ..
Yet, to me, the "Open the USA Back Up" folks exhibit a degree of selfishness, almost a callous attitude toward things regarding their own Fellow Humans ..
That is, until they are directly effected themselves ..

AND - If a certain group of people are that stupid and so determined to demand that "We" should have no restrictions at this time . . . IMPO - YES - Open it up . . . Yes the faster the better . . . Let them leave their homes to congregate again . . . Go to "Work" and "Play" Outside . . . AND - When all of them, their family and loved ones find themselves in the hospitals that are so overwhelmed without enough equipment and too many patients to care for properly . . . Well - They didn't want to "Stay at Home" . . . As a result they got what the wanted - they're out of the house and no longer sequestered . . . Just Sayin' . . .
I know I sound insensitive and callous . . . "My" BAD . . . AND - I can be as guilty as those I accuse - I am definitely No Angel, nor pure of heart . . . But - Each and everyone of those people who instigated and participated in these demonstration will hopefully finally get to see the reality of what they wanted . . .

Seems so many want to "enjoy" the benefits of society - e.g. fire and police departments, hospitals, commerce and communal "fun" activities - but don't want to accept that, if living IN as society, one must have some concern for that society, not just one's self.
Yeah, their "freedom" to risk infection means, to them, that I have to brave that risk as well, based on their actions. Where's the outcry to protect MY freedom to avoid their illness and insensitivity?? OH, forgot. Only their freedom counts.

All I'm going to say is the states in which these demonstrations occurred will probably see a sharp increase in their positive cases within two weeks. But I doubt those idiots will put two and two together. Gary and I will resume “normal” when the CDC says it’s safe.
