Good morning/afternoon all. I hope everyone is doing well today. This is going to be a "Who's on First" type of post. I got a call yesterday from my buddy Steven. One of the guys (Corky) that always joins us at his cousin's farm tested positive for COVID. Corky's wife works for the city jail and she hasn't felt good the last week (?).:-x So on her day off Corky took her to the hospital and they both tested positive. Wherever Douglas goes Corky is tied to his hip, they are actually neighbors. Today, Douglas and Donna, Steven's cousin, are going to the hospital in Norman for testing. We were all at the farm weekend before last and it is not known if Corky was contagious at that time. I have not shown any signs or symptoms, except for allergies, so I am waiting until Douglas and Donna get their results before I call my Dr if I need to. So, just to be safe, after I get back from the pharmacy drive-thru, I will quarantine myself in the workshop. :)

Oh, hey. I had cataract surgery today. This time on my right eye. It's still a bit blurry, but I'm pretty sure it's clearing up faster than the last time. I can read the monitor either with or without reading glasses - though it's better with than without.

Morning, lizards.

Great that the second one went well, Nermal. Yep, unless you went for the "corrective" replacements, doesn't do much to correct vision - other than letting the light back in!

And that can help prevent this ;)

Good morning. Raining here. We're still fooling around with this internet problem. Mike actually got through to a live person this morning, but he got transferred and has been on hold for awhile now. Sigh.

Nermal, glad to hear the cataract surgery went well. I'm so glad I had mine done!

Oh man, I hope this all turns out ok. A lot of people don't even have symptoms, but we are all in a dangerous age group. Make sure you take your vitamins, especially zinc, and take care of yourself. I'll send some positive, healthy vibes your way!

One week now with the Solo / Zlide .. I'm still hitting a Spinner / EVOD periodically as well .. 839 puffs / averaging between 6-7 volts depending on 1.6 ohm coil .. topped off tank to the mid point 3 times .. changed the battery for the first time about 2 minutes ago .. drained the first battery to full stop ..

The coil still seems to be OK, it's still the first one .. I'm not getting any weird, worn out taste .. that is, unless I just don't know what to, er, taste for .. I've used the EVODS so long, it's easy to tell when it's time for a new coil ..

I rooted around and found an old pocket camera belt pouch to tote the thing in .. shirt pocket was just not working out, the shirt always ended up lower on the pocket side .. the camera pouch is not tall enough for the Solo with tank, it sticks out some from the top .. but, if I tighten the zipper, it's pretty secure ..

Change the coil when it doesn't taste good anymore or when it becomes hard to draw though. Clear mixes last a long time.

With that said I am vaping one of my cheesecakes which is not clear and my coil is near a month old. I do rotate 4 pv's. Two pods also to a lesser extent.

Good morning. It's muggy outside this morning. We had a soaking rain yesterday so the flower pots on the deck needed their drip dishes emptied again.

Yesterday was very frustrating trying to get our internet connection fixed. You know when you call Verizon and they put you on hold? Might as well just hang up. It's their way of not handling the situation. Between the 2 of us we spent 7 hours on the phone. Even the online chats (using our phone hotspots) Mike got disconnected 4 times. FINALLY someone is going to come out on Sunday. So, I'm writing this post and will wait until I have a connection and then quick send it.

Janet I can’t believe they won’t come out until Sunday. Crazy!

Heck originally it was Monday morning. Then last night I got a text that a 'crew' would be in the area Sunday morning and would it be Ok to come then. But of course get your butts here and fix it. We've been down since Wednesday.

Contacting and dealing with Verizon support has been a nightmare. Most folks in the neighborhood had service by Wednesday night. Ours was still intermittent and even when it was 'on' it only lasted 2-5 minutes and was down again. Went to bed hoping it would be back to normal when we got up on Thursday.

Nope ,,, it was still only up for 2 to 5 minutes then down for 1/2 hr, repeat, repeat, repeat.
Took a couple hours on hold both telephone and online 'chat' until I got through to support. He diagnosed it as a bad modem because he couldn't see the router on the network. I tried to tell him wait a bit and you'll see it, and then you won't. OK, even though I was doubtful of his diagnosis of a bad router I accepted it and they overnighted a new modem to us.

Friday morning I swapped out the old router for the new one. Same problem. I was on hold for 5 hours on my phone and Janet's phone was on hold for over 2 hours trying to get to talk with someone.

At the same time, I was trying to contact them via 'chat' from our iPads. This all started Friday morning. Late Friday afternoon, I finally got through on a chat session. He ran his diagnostics, had me reboot the router, etc, and still could not figure out the problem and scheduled us for a service call.

Addendum. The only Verizon person I could contact without delay, call went right to a person, was when I wanted to spend more money to upgrade my data plan on our wireless service.

We ran out of data, and I wanted to try to talk them into 'comping' me additional data usage because our internet had been down for 3 days and being at the end of our billing cycle has used up our data.

Well they wouldn't give me any for 'free' but I did get my plan changed from 2 gig/month to 5 gig/month for $1 less on our monthly bill.

Typically we use less than a 1 gig a month. And now we've already burned through 1/2 of the new 5 gig plan and that might run out before verizon gets my internet up and going again.

    Beyond frustrated and ...... off.

Darn, Mike and Janet, no fun! But only one more day... hopefully!

Telcos and ISPs are just plain weird. Got an email from my ISP last month that my lame 1.5M connection was going to go away in September. I've been on them, intermittently, for years about going faster, and it's always been Nope. (My isp wheels across the local telco copper.) Even though the local telco said they could give me (up to) 10. Well, I've had my address for, oh, close to 20 years now, and didn't really want to change it.

So, I call my ISP customer service to see what's going on, why is it going away. No clear reason, but it's going away. But, uh, he says, we can upgrade you to 10. For the same price. Seems to me it would have been a great PR move to just send me the new modem for higher speed as a "thank you" for staying with them, rather than make me think I'd have to scramble to find another ISP and change my addy.... Oh, well, worked out ok :)
