He's trying to figure out what happened to his highway to the suet. He can leap from the railing to the suet feeder, but almost fell to the ground trying to come back. He can't leap back because the feeder is not stationary. This will at least slow them down. Tomorrow morning will be the real test when all his friends show up.

Wait! What happened to my picture! Have to try again.

There he is! Guess he's going to sleep on it and try again in the morning.

Crap!!! I just got a text from my oldest son, he is in the hospital in Houston with COVID. His wife and oldest son are getting tested today. The other son has been in college for the last couple of weeks so they are not testing him unless he starts showing symptoms. Now it is just a waiting game and I'm not very good at waiting. I think I had best post this before it turns into a novella.

Oh no. Prayers for your son heading his way. Try to stay calm. They're much better at treating this awful virus now.

Good morning Bea. What a gorgeous morning. Sunny with a high of 77!!

@Bea-FL Looks like I won't be needing the cayenne pepper in the suet. Between the pole covered with plastic bottles and the suet feeder made from recycled plastic the squirrels can't seem to get a good grip on the feeder. Wow, could it possibly be that we've finally foiled those pesky critters?

What a great idea those plastic bottles! Do they try to walk on them and the bottles roll and the squirrels fall off?

Yes, they fall off. They can't get a grip because the bottle is too wide. Plus, the water bottles Mike used is that super flimsy plastic so it makes a noise and crinkles. I've never seen a squirrel stumped for so long.

Yesterday I got a pole to mount the bluebird house on and I think we should stack some larger plastic bottles on the pole to discourage critters from climbing up. Now I just have to find someone who drinks soda so I can steal their bottles.

He has jumped from the railing to the feeder, but the little square openings of the wire grid are smaller so it makes it harder for the squirrels to eat the suet.

Thank you, all, for the positive thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. David's breathing has improved enough that he is able to go home with self-isolation.
So glad for that and hoping he continues to improve.

So glad to hear the good news. I hope he continues to improve quickly. Does he have someone who can shop for whatever he might need?

    'Afternoon everyone...:)

Where's everyone hiding? Did you all stay up too late reading....like I did? I think I'll have to back off of books for awhile, simply because, as I've explained here before, I can't put one down until I come to the end, and...I've been averaging a book a day latelyo_O

    Hola .. :)

One of the great conundrums of the Pandemic, IMO, anyway, is home prices and sales .. I don't know what it's like in your areas, but around the STL area, prices are way on the upswing and there are actually some new subdivisions being built ..

Yet, when you drive around shopping area mecas, a half to 3/4th's of the shops / eateries are closed and boarded up ..

    I don't get it .. o_O
