Meet Me in St Louie Louie
This morning, during my walk, I snapped this .. the flotsam and jetsam of a topsy-turvy World of crumbling and deteriorating Life, preparing to swirl down the sewer ways, making it's unknown Journey to an unknown Destination .. joining it's population of unknown Kindred .. thoughtlessly shoved out the car window as just another disposable souvenir of the new Reality ..

For me this year Sep. 1st means we have 9 days left before the axe falls on the vaping community. Sep. 10th will be a void of legal products left on the market. If you're liking that Zenith and Solo, you might consider backups.

I hate to report that I'm still primarily hitting the Spinners / EVOD .. I do have the Solo / zlide strapped to my belt in an old compact camera case .. I know, I'm slow .. but the Solo setup is heavy, won't tote well in my shirt pocket, and, to me, does not offer any really substantial upgrade from a user standpoint than my antique gear .. other than the battery and coil lasts longer ..

Creature of habit, guilty as charged ..

My condolences on the loss of your friend, @Uncle Willie . As others have said, to go through a tough life only to be taken by this virus. Godspeed Wayne.

I have seen discarded masks in parking lots and around. Disgusting, people have no respect for anything.

Good evening. It's been a putzing day around here, busy doing a little of this and that. I noticed our bedroom curtains were looking a little dull. They're sheers and I can't remember when they were washed last, but in inspecting them I realized that they were hanging up backwards. They're clean now and hanging up the right way. Can't even tell.

@Uncle Willie I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you have some good memories to give you comfort.

I don't especially like the Solo better than other gear but the main reason I have them is their ruggedness and durability. After my Pico drowned in the pool and my Aspire went flying off the riding mower, I knew I needed something else for around water and when mowing. I do love my Z coils, they last forever. I get about a month or more out of them.

This will sound stupid but keep in mind I've been vaping on a Provari that only regulated with volts since I quit smoking in 2014. I use commercial coils that are supposed to be 1.5 Ω. I say supposed because Until I started using the provari Classic I didn’t really know since my old Provaris didn’t show that figure.

i just replaced my coil and the Classic says this one is 1.3 Ω. I’ve been happily vaping at 3.4 V all along so I set that in this mod. My previous coils was 1.5 Ω and the mod showed watts to be 7.8 but with this new coil watts are 9.1. I am familiar with the watts vs volts and one adjusting the other etc, etc thanks to Baditude so I understand why the watts number changed.

Ok…now…my question is should I continue setting my volts or go with watts. I honestly can’t tell any difference between the 7.8 W and the 9.1 W.

Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill? Please tell me if I am. It won’t hurt my feelings :D

Your old (2.0 & 2.5) Provari's should have a click to menu showing the Ωs of the coil. I think as you click you come to 'AO' then the Ωs of the coil are displayed. The 2.5 upgrade was to allow the boards to draw more amps than the 2.0. It wasn't a great deal more but still more. I can't remember what the limit was. But I think the lowest I could go was 1.2Ω and set the volts in the high 3's may 4 before reaching the limit.

The upper end of the volts setting depended on the resistance of the coil ... the higher the resistance the higher you could set the volts on the old Provari's. That all had to do with ohms law and what the amp draw was for a given combination.

The old Provari's will just display an error if you have a low Ω coil and you try to set the volts too high and it reaches the amp limit. Then just lower the volts, until the error goes away.

I'm so used to watts on all my box mods I just use watts on the Classic and P3s.

If nothing else, once all the Spinners die of age, and deeming means you can't replace them, the Solo will still be there.

Ok…now…my question is should I continue setting my volts or go with watts. I honestly can’t tell any difference between the 7.8 W and the 9.1 W.

Uh, take your pick? Appears you don't see much difference, so what ever is easier and works for you :)

Bea - I'm still old school provari. Using nautilus 1.8 coils at 4 volts. I have the classic, P3 and radius. I still dial in volts on them. On the other mods, watts are used but it varies between 7 to 13, depending on the device and coil.

@Uncle Willie, I'm sorry to hear about your friend's passing. The loss of a friend is especially hard and more so with COVID. We should be safe when we return home.
@Bea-FL, I say if it works for you don't worry about it. Do whatever it takes to keep the cigs at bay.

    Hola .. :)

Tree removal crew showed up early this AM .. taking out one of my sweet gum trees .. it's a big one, in fact, the root area base looks like something out of 'Lord of the Rings' .. the thing is about 50 years old ..

Checked in on them at noon .. they had it down to just the main trunk .. kept working even though we were getting some sprinkling rain .. I decided on having the stump ground as well .. I've got $1500 green money in an envelope for when they get done .. the best I could get them down to .. others had bid around $2500 ..

But, the good news is, this will eliminate 50% of the work required to keep the debris these durn trees produce, beautiful trees, quite messy .. sweet gum / gumballs .. just one left now ..

Oh, well, I had my heart set on a new 75" TV during Black Friday / Cyber Monday or if Amazon ever gets around to doing Prime Days this year .. I'll have to start socking away some dinero since this kind of depletes the discretionary fund .. :(

Good morning. 70 humid degrees outside. The Coopers hawk must be around because the birds and squirrels are absent on the back deck. The fox was visiting yesterday morning. Must be a young one because it's coat was a beautiful rust color. Wonder what's the purpose of the little white tip on their tail.

    Autumn begins in 19 days!

How sad to get rid of a big tree like that, but although the trees are beautiful, those gum balls are just awful.

Well, from all indications, the tree did not have many years left, so it's for the best in the long run .. better it be gone now than a big wind split it and knock it into my roof ..

Watching the crew take it down, when large sections of the main trunk hit the ground, you could feel the vibration in your feet .. I now have a huge mound of dirt and tree wood chips due to the stump grinding .. and the section of my yard where Mr/Ms Tree was are now devoid of grass due to the crews Bobcat back and forth ..

And, it's weird .. you live with a tree for 35 years, it becomes just a part of everyday life .. now, it's suddenly gone and the space is vacant .. o_O

So they can tell which end is which?

Yeah, we do grow accustomed to our out the window scenery, but also yeah, better to have it down deliberately and safely than to wait for it to come into the bedroom! That can lead to a rude awakening!

The chips make a good mulch, the grass will grow back.

Strange isn't it? Had you planted that sweet gum tree? It reflects my age that trees that we planted here as sticks 32 years ago are now huge. Some ornamentals now need to be removed or storms have taken them out a piece at a time. Our property was edged with pine trees when we moved in. About 10 years later we had to have every other one taken out and it didn't take long for the remaining trees to fill in the spaces. Now those trees are huge. Hard to imagine there used to be twice as many. We had an arborist check them out because we feared some of the closer ones to the house might be a danger, but he gave them a clean bill of health. Whew! At this point I'm not sure we could afford to have them removed.
