K : The truth is, I'm not generally in front of the camera and I'm not much of a "selfie" guy .. however, in order to answer some of your curiosity, here is one a few years old I happen to have handy .. and, no, there are no shenanigans going on .. .. Ian and I have been good friends for over 30 years ..

Wonderful story and what a great tradition I admit to being jealous because even though my hub is my best friend it's just the two of us now. Other family and long time friends are all far away…not that we have very many. We have our own traditions but I miss being in the same room with friends and reminisce about the past or whatever.

I'm pretty much in the same situation .. most all of my close Family is gone, good friends are off and away or gone as well .. heck, I can't even find anyone these days to hang out with on a Friday night .. .. I used to have a "Gang of Miscreants" that would drop in the workshop one or two evenings a week to just sit around and shoot the breeze and play a little guitar, but many can no longer play due to medical issues and others just moved on ..

I did try my hand at "selfies" a couple times when I was under the influence of one thing or another .. these are both more current ::

Joni Mitchell, 74 today, once described herself as a "painter derailed by circumstance." .. this first song is generally thought of as a Judy Collins song .. it is a Joni Mitchell song .. 1967, a very good year, from what I can remember, anyway .. .. this version I absolutely love .. take a moment, take a listen, breath deep ..





Ms Mitchell used over 50 different guitar tunings in her songwriting .. most of which, she made up out of her own head ..

Ha Ha! If that was true the payment to the doc would also have included separately washing all my clothes and the towels and sheets and plates etc!! And that was for 2 days! Very weird. And when I turned off the lights I didn't even glow in the dark. Now that would have been interesting!

I like the first cut best. Maybe because its sung by her when she was older, but she's just so honest about it. Like she owns it.
