Good morning to the young at heart

Hola ..
Now that this 'new and improved' Pfizer Covid Booster is officially out, I'm giving more serious consideration to getting my 4th shot .. and, will be needing my annual Flu shot ..
Still, don't feel like getting them both at the same time ..
Conundrum ..
Good luck, roseGood morning. Today I have oral surgery![]()
Hola ..
I'm going to head to Nashville either later today or early tomorrow and get off the grid for a time .. I need a change of scenery, some live music ..
'The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band' is playing at the Ryman on Saturday and I've got a couple good seats .. won't be hard to find a partner to take along ..
Wish you'd be there .. nothing like the Ryman .. gives me chills when I walk in the doors ..
Hallowed ground, for sure ..
In high school, I was that guy pumping gas and working in the garage. I got 95 cents an hour working from 5 PM - 10 PM. When school let out, I got $25 a month for cleaning classrooms in grade school. That was about an hour or so. The gas station closed at 10 PM then I went to the small roadside cafe and helped my mom. She was the cook, so I helped her in the kitchen, doing the dishes. No pay I but I usually did get a plate of whatever the special was for the day. Wow, thanks for the memories. You remember Gas Stations .. I'm sure .. a greasy attendant would pump your gas, check the oil, clean the windshield after he extricated himself from the vehicle he was working on in the Garage ..
Isn't it amazing at all we did back then? Kids now have no idea. I worked from the time I was 11 years old. I went to Cosmetology school and high school at the same time.In high school, I was that guy pumping gas and working in the garage. I got 95 cents an hour working from 5 PM - 10 PM. Yes, yes and yes. My dad always thought the proper place for seat belts was tucked away into the seats. And I did the same thing with my first car ('69 Plymouth Fury III).Played outside till at least dark ..
Got sent to the store with a note ..
Sat in the car without a carseat .. EDIT :: and, no seat belt ..
Check, check and check. And we walked to school, and back, in whatever weather nature had in store. Here in Wisconsin only those 18 and younger have to wear a helmet. I mean, WI is the home of Harley-Davidson. Lots of H-D riders here. My motorcycle days ended in my 20s (likely a good thing).Walked to school. And back.
Climbed trees without a harness or net
Heck, I motorcycled for years without a helmet, until those became the law.![]()
Morning, all.
Still no rain (although rumors persist), but cooler temps are sure nice.
How much longer before the move, Rose? Indeed, nice when it's done!
About a week if I survive.
And we walked to school, and back, in whatever weather nature had in store.
You forgot 'barefoot' 'in the snow'.At least you don't (necessarily!) need to complete the move in one day, if you don't want to. I guess one could call that an unexpected side effect from not selling first, but hope a good sale does happen soon!
Yup, 5 miles uphill both ways![]()
The multi color looks like Josephs Coat but that is a small climber. It is definitely a semi double, probably a floribunda but that could be any of a thousand. The white looks like JFK or Pascali and is a hybrid tea. Might be Full Sail. Think I need more info, post pics when the bloom opens, tell me if the roses have thorns and post a pic of the leaf.Every day I like to walk around and look at the flowers we have. The ladies always tell me their names... but I never remember the 'official' names. They chuckle after asking me for the names of this and that.
I know them by 'rose' or 'daisy'... or my personal favorite for many "that one is cool looking".
Today I stealthily snapped a photo of a rose that has some fancy name. They grow in clusters off a main stem. Very very fragrant and are rather small compared to a full sized long stem rose. I seem to recall something like 'tea cup blah blah blah'.

I tried looking it up online and well, forget that, way too many for me to figure out what's what.
@rosesense, you are someone I regard as a rose expert. My sincere hope is you can tell me what kind of roses those are so that I can proudly tell the girls next time I'm 'quizzed'.
Please, please, please,, and thank you in advance.
And also took this pic earlier. I love white roses. I will always remember my wife telling me "white roses symbolize love, purity and eternity".

Was lookin' those up too. I never knew there were soooooo many different varieties for what I call a plain old white rose!!! I mean, not to be disrespectful or anything, but geez, who comes up with all the different names.
