( my Mom was a great cook/baker....OMW, her cinnamon rolls were the very best in the world! LOTSA gooey thick syrupy stuff on the bottom!

Speaking of cold - we were in Salisbury MD this past week. Friday and Saturday highs in the 40s, lows in the low 20s. My thumb, oh my aching thumb! When it gets cold it turns a blueish purple. Once warmed (even putting my hand under my shirt on my stomach warms it) it pinks up again. But pain? OMG! Supposed to do a show in Fredricksburg, VA in January. Told hubby hope he has a good trip cuz I AIN'T going!!!!!!
Can you make tiny rice pockets for the microwave? Rice Heating Pad & Hand Warmers Gift I think part of the healing process includes increased blood supply. Are you keeping your nic consumption low?
Could you get some of those hand warmer things you can put in your gloves? i think they're good for a couple hours. Hunters use them a lot so they're usually found in sporting gods stores..
No microwave at a dog show. I do bring my heating pad everywhere.
Oh yes, have a bunch of them. Great for when there is no electric for my heating pad.
I do certainly appreciate all the ideas! I did find some warm, thermal gloves in a size I could fit my thumb in while walking dogs. It helps, but the the cold still hurts. Should fade with time. I see my surgeon on Friday and have a short list of questions about recovery and what to expect. Every medical professional I have talked to says 6 months to 1 year. It's only been 2 months and I am amazed how the human body can heal. Coming along nicely.
Well you have all gone and done it ... Last week I found something on sale I have wanted for years and hubs told me if I wanted it go ahead. After all these years of using and killing hand mixers I finally have stand mixer that has taken up residence on my kitchen counter. All that talk of PB sent me in search of one of the old yellowed recipe cards that bear my Grandma's handwriting. Peanut Butter Cookies it shall be.
My sleep is so messed up...went to bed at midnight....wide awake at 3:30 AM... Couldn't get back to sleep so....I've got a sausage, mushroom quiche cooling on the counter, new pot of coffee brewing and dishes soaking in the sink...
