SIL's Mother has a good heart, but....not a great cook....dinner is always so early that the turkey isn't completely cooked....and when I referred to the hockey puck biscuits....that's a term coined by her three sons... Hoping she has done a ham as well....that usually comes out fine...

I had a lovely Thanksgiving....hope you all had the same... SIL's brother met us at the door with his phone in a video call to his Son (SIL's nephew)....who is deployed somewhere that he couldn't reveal...so that we all could see and talk to him while so far away. So nice to share the family gathering with him and I hope we repeat it at Christmas, as he won't be returning until sometime in January and will miss his baby's first Christmas and birthday...

Somebody must have helped with the turkey this time...it was delicious, and the hockey pucks were absent...bakery dinner rolls instead...

We all gathered at our son's home and he extended an invitation to our friends who would have otherwise been alone.
It was a blessed, lovely day in which a precious memory was made!

Just me and the hubs today. As we both have kids from prior marriages we do the family dinner on Sunday. I did cook a small bird and some sides. We kicked back in front of the fireplace for football and a feast.

Traditional holidays are no fun for me and hubs since we lost our son and revive memories of happier times…so we don't celebrate them. But I'm happy for anyone who has family or friends near by with whom to celebrate.
