BTW, I was busy with the nest earlier--sort of... We have a new hummingbird nest this spring also. In a different place though, hard to take a picture without frightening the mama hummer. :)

They see all - well most birds do :) We have a hummingbird nest in our river birch and a robin's nest as well. I have a real odd thing going on - we have the outer storm/screen door painted with a green paint - (for about 3 years now) and the cardinals and robins love it - they sit on the handle and peck it. I don't know what's in it that they want but ....strange - only do it for about 3 weeks - probably part of nesting. BTW, 'nesting joke' left for you pages back now..... ;)

I saw it... hence my nesting post...

OK, back to work. I'm editing a scientific paper on Vicodin. I'm not kidding you... Can't talk about it though.

And I think I mentioned this in kent's thread once but when setting up and waiting to take pictures of the hummingbirds, what's really nice is that you know they're coming brrrrrrrr like helicopter so you can just sit out there and enjoy the view until you hear that - they love the coral bells.... and movement didn't really affect them much. Gurt, the cat, well that was different - had to put him on the porch for those sessions.....

Kent, did you take those pictures??? :thumb:

We have so many of them here... I grow flowers for them--lavender, rosemary, jasmines, honysuckle, trumpet vine. I love my hummers. Gonna try to take a picture of the mama hummer in her nest later.
