She loved him so much that she "converted" for him?

I wonder what it means in Indian? Isn't that the name of a tribe?

Don't think so.. but perhaps - lots of Indian names around here. The main tribe was Erie but there were others.

I liked that line in 'The Patriot' where Tavington says to Cornwalis - "tell me about ... Ohio" (in making a deal with him to take out 'Mel'. ;)

Found it: From an Iroquoian word meaning “great river”.

So you're from a great river! :)

Patriot...good movie, lots of Mel influence I think!

Well, don't be so surprised. :D Ron Paul, for all his good ideas I like...I can't help but think he's still a career politician. His son is more slick.

Drove out toward the beach. There are thousands of bikers in town for some kind of gathering. There are several here each year.
Great for restaurants and hotels. Not so good for traffic though, LOL. And locals, like me, go out to gawk at some awesome machines (adding to the traffic).

Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally, Panama City Beach Bike Week

Welcome to the Panama City Beach Motorcycle Rally

I lived in North Shore, Oahu and every winter during the big surfs, the place gets taken over. That's the price of living in vacation spots. I liked the place a lot more the rest of the year. :)

Well the story was another good one for him. I liked it alot. And even Mel said he liked it better than Braveheart - 'more family stuff' - but artists almost always do that - they like their last piece best :) We had big discussion on kent's thread on that one...

I detected a theme in Mel starting in Braveheart, a darker look of the world and a messianic sacrificial self portrait, back validated to Lethal Weapon, maybe even Mad Max. It continued into Apocalypto, etc. It tells me about his personality, consistent with that one drunken outburst.

He and Sigourney made a fine, fine couple in The Year of Living Dangerously, another classy movie!

While Lethal Weapons were entertaining - I liked some of the other stuff - Two Faces, What Women Want, BH and The Pat. - but didn't care for Signs or Apocalypto and another one after The Patriot. The Bounty and frankly  his Hamlet was the first time I really understood all the aspects of the story. And better for me than you know who  Sorry.... And really loved Ransom - another that, like Cuckoo's Nest, is hard to watch the reruns even though Cuckoo's was my top film for the longest time - well, until The Patriot :) We Were Soldiers was special - I was in the First Cav... and I like almost anything that Sam Elliot is in...

Agreed. I was just thinking about his real personality. The Lethal Weapons movies were "just for fun" and dollars. Sighs was weird and I still haven't brought myself to watch Apocalypto, a good movie I can tell but maybe too realistic for me. I liked We Were Soldiers a lot...a classic war movie format, not much politics or other unimportant stuff for a war movie...just tell the story of the soldiers...and the battle. Funny thing, I can watch the violence in war movies more than in non-war, probably due to expectations.

eta: btw, First Cav? :thumb:
