When the Beatles made the USA debut on the Sullivan show, our family didn't own a television set. We drove to a friend of my parents who had a B&W set, the whole family loaded up in the Dodge Station Wagon for the event, specifically for the occasion. I saw the introduction and the start of the show, what was it? "I want to hold your hand", I think that they opened with. Me and my buddy went outside to play shortly after that.

We were amazed though, at how long their hair was. Yeah, it actually covered the tops of their ears, right?
