On a lighter note....thanks to all who sent me birthday wishes. It was a great birthday...I hit $600 on the slots, saw the movie Ted....which was raunchy, sweet, and hilarious....had a fabulous dinner at a steakhouse. So your birthday wishes for me paid off. The only thing which was strange was no fireworks....that has always been a part of my birthday. And since the whole country participates, it just did not feel quite right. They said they cancelled the fireworks because of the dry weather....but I have a feeling that they think I am just too old to matter now....you know how this country dotes on its young people. If it is an age thing, we probably will never have fireworks on the 4th again.

And a special hug and thanks to Starry for the birthday thread.....loved, loved, loved it.

I did, Jag. It was pretty much a perfect birthday. The only thing better would have been a jackpot of $6000, $600,000 or $6,000,000. But that makes me sound greedy, so I will take my little $600 and smile.

And thank you for gathering such a nice group of people onto a thread..I came back to such a pleasant surprise when Sea sent me a p.m. about my birthday thread....very heartwarming for me. And I attribute the niceness to you...attracting those kinds of people to your thread. Love the beachers...maudlin as it may sound.
