What is the sigh for?

My MIL is 80, lives 200 miles away, drives herself up here bringing us all kinds of home made goodies from the Amish stores in her area. Sounds promising right? Well, after she gets here, it is all downhill from there.

More MIL jokes? Hahahaha!

Sigh? Guess I wished I had one that cute, once upon a time. It's the sigh let out when facing a thing of beauty, like the grace of God. :)

Really do enjoy the Amish cooking....but don't have much appetite when hearing about Nascar races for hours on end. Yes, she is a Nascar fan. And when not talking about Nascar she is rambling on about all her neighbors and their comings and goings. We do not know these people so I just nod and let my mind wander.

Hubs being the chicken that he is, hides out in his woodworking shop.

When DH's mom use to visit, it was required that he be there! She was a wonderful woman but she came to visit so no hiding allowed. Of course she actually never stayed with us so that helped.

I did too.....it was very scary at the time. I do not know if it has held up well or not.

And The Omen...the original with Gregory Peck.......still one of the scariest I have seen.

We should live closer or meet in between the next time a good scary movie comes out.
And yes, I loved the Omen too. :)

The longest I do is 75 miles each way to our next, bigger town. And once in a few years, that 1,000 mile drive to mom's, takes 2 days.

I love car trips if not alone. My sisters and I used to drive to Florida every spring to see my mom--1000 miles--and we would do stuff on the way and coming back. Sometimes it would take us 3 days to get there. That was a blast. We had a book (before internet) that told where unusual out of the way restaurants were. Sometimes we would travel out of the way to hit up some of those. I have some stories about those....great memories. Unfortunately with DH, it is get in the car, and get there as fast as possible.

That's the problem for me, driving is like work. I usually just try to get there faster. I haven't had a leisure drive for a long, long time...decades. Here it is again...sigh...
