when you dream in the language is when you really know you're fluent...but i wouldn't have bargained for the disorientation..(but, heck, I'm not entirely sure i even dream in english- it's all images, not words, when i even remember)

I'd say you're good at that point. I don't what "fluent" means really. You can never be a "native speaker" if you haven't grown up in the culture. You can be very, very good, perfectively good accent-wise, completely conversational but still a bit "off" from time-to-time. Nothing that would cause trouble but still detectable to a native speaker.

Meh.

English is second language for me. Do I sound native English at all, or am I still off a little? :?: I don't think I have an accent, well, West Coast I think. :D

I know there are many slang things I don't do or do well. :)

We always sound "better" in writing - including native speakers! The think-pause makes us all sound less flip, less regional, less casual, and less crude.

To me, conversational writing is more challenge than writing, say, a story. :)

OK, I have to leave you now. :( The sailboat exit pic cometh! :D

Shower and a late dinner for me...
