I know the feeling. We had a painted deck when we moved in. I repainted it twice and said "this is enough" when I was laying out and a snake came up through the boards and was tickling my ankle with his tongue. I started saving to put in a full fledged patio. The back of our house faces west so if I didn't paint early morning it was god-awful. I still have to pressure wash the patio, but it is not as bad as the painting. Do you use a roller on a pole? That is what I used for all but the railings... or do you use a sprayer?

Our forecast.... we need the rain so badly. I hate cleaning up the mess but it looks like we will be on the S/SW side of the system so we may not get much at all.....

i could use a roller, but it seems to work best with a brush...so i have a 5" brush. (I don't have a sprayer). Pressure washing is fun, but still I only do it every few years....and thank gosh it's far enough off the ground that i don't have to worry about be tickled by snakes  ::shudder::

(i'm getting ready to save up and have it extended and part of it enclosed to be a greenhouse...wonder how many years it'll take me to save for it)

You could build something really simple like this yourself. I like the lattice. Inside the building you could attach the heavy plastic across the top of each wall and then tie it up like roman shades in the warm months and have an open air gardening station... or a cool covered place for table and chairs! I wish I had room for something like this....

I'd like to apologize to everyone for my behavior last night. I was feeling pretty bad about my situation, and then I got blitzed. I should know better than to drink and type ... do know better, in fact. But ... there I went again.

Sorry.

Here's an idea - go back and edit it off the thread.
