Well Lis, that's not so bad. Just fry your roots in extra-virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil, b/c it has the MCT (medium-chain triglycerides) that are so good for us. Don't eat margarine, eat natural butter or EVOO (extra-virgin olive oil) drizzled over the tops. For salt, buy it at a health food store - it's not very expensive at all. If you can't get to one, then go to your market and choose Hain brand Himalayan sea salt. For rice, try weaning yourself off of white rice and onto brown rice.

i am using regular sea salt since you told me last week , i have never heard about the Himalayan one, i am going to try to find it around my neighborhood if not i will ordered on line , i only use the brown rice when cooking congris or yellow rice, i can't stand it as the white rice :(

I like rice and red beans... last time I made it with yellow rice and liked it even better. Brown and wild rice are the tastiest -- especially if you put some mushrooms in. Lis -- why don't you like to eat veggies? You don't like raw dipped in salad dressing? What about grilled veggies?

Try creaming them. Squash and similar is great this way. Cut into small pieces and bake in oven with a little heavy cream and butter. Very soft, very tasty with tiny salt. Grilled cherry tomatoes are soft too. Corn pudding -- same as squash but add a little sugar and egg. I have recipes I can share with you but only if you tell me you will try them....
