Good Morning Beach!
T'was
three days packed with rainfall and all
through the town
streets and houses were flooded and power lines were down
many were a scramblin' to reach higher ground
rescuin' who they could, so no one would drown
The water, it roared, as it poured from the sky
no matter what you did you weren't gonna stay dry
it rained and it rained, fifteen inches, no lie
didn't matter the reason, didn't matter the why
Debby did Florida and she did it right well
made life for way too many an inescapable hell
who would have thought it, she was not a mighty cell
might this just be practice, sort of a little warning bell?
Next time git out early, and make sure you take more than enough
for life in a shelter ain't no picnic, in fact it's kinda rough
And now that the land is scoured clean, by water it's been buffed
but the water itself is filthy, and chock full of everyone's stuff
It's time to pull up your boots, ain't no reason to be vexed
and ain't no time to be weary, ain't no time to sit and rest
fore the season, it is upon us, oceanic storms are our hex
you might as well git ready 'cause there's gonna be a "next"!
