Starry should balance her view of ET by viewing or reading Sagan's - 'Contact' a few times.
Some may have advanced far beyond us and have since become extinct. Some, as you say, may be way behind us. But, some are right where we are ... problem is, at the speed of light, communication in a meaningful way is not realistic. That is, beyond a "Howdy!" ... round trip at the speed of light is years/decades/centuries.You are right, Lis, they may have technology far advanced to ours.....or.....they could still be in the stone age. That is, if there are other life forms out there.
Hi jj! Thanks to you and Sea for keeping an eye on Meggers! I'm glad he stayed in the water.![]()

No reasonable doubt that there is other intelligent life in the Universe. To find otherwise, definitively, would be the true shocker!
Did an alien tell you that?![]()
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!
I keep an open mind on that, NCC, maybe there are and maybe there aren't. When one of our space probes sends back a pic of a space ship, with a bumper sticker that reads "I brake for comets", or "vote for Zlogg", then I will believe it.Some may have advanced far beyond us and have since become extinct. Common sense lets us know. As I said, if it could be shown definitively that there is no extra terrestrial intelligence, THAT would be the shocker. The odds against us being alone in the Universe are mind boggling (literally astronomical). You'll have to prove to me that they don't exist ... go ahead Lis, do it.we are not intelligent enough to have an answeror the barrier of time and space will never let us known

You all have me thinking now, maybe I will get my radio out, while the conditions are good. See ya, I will be back in a two or three years, when the solar cycle dies down again.![]()
Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!! I see you lurking and liking.![]()

Computers were out of service, much of my life, Lis.A radio is something that must be kept for life, we dont know if some day the puters are going to be out of service for a while
