So meggers are you ready to put it back together?

Well, while I have the walls stripped down, I'm going to run more wiring. Like most old houses...it only has one outlet for the entire room. So I'll put two more in. THEN...I'll put it back together.

Oh...and some FOOL painted the wood floors...................PINK! So I will be sanding them down and putting new finish on them.

So yeah...I took all the plaster and slats off the wall. Here are a couple of pictures. The insulation you see on the ceiling is what I put in. Neither the walls or the roof had any insulation in them. You can click on them for a larger image. Old houses...nothing square and whatever wood was handy to build it.

Looks like there was some shoring up before you got inside the walls, and you've done even more. I see the new 2x4s.

Actually...the new 2 x 4's are from when the window was installed. That would have been in 1953. Originally the house was a three story square farm house. In the 30's they took it down to two floors. There was no window there. I can see where they patched in the floor in front of that window. It's where the old original wood/cook stove flu ran up through the floor. That poor house has been modified a LOT through the years. I'm just glad that all the old wiring was replaced twenty years ago.

Well they must have believed in "Pretty In Pink"

I hate painting over any kind of wood. Especially wood work and wood floors. I got some friends who put carpet over their floor it but the wood was looking rugged and they are my age and didn't want to fool with it. At least (later) if someone wants to they can rip out the carpet and redo it.

Actually...it was in the fifties. Now the funny part is that at the hospital where DW works a woman(who recently retired)lived in that house. And guess what her name is. That's right! Joan! And yes...DW showed her this picture and it was her who sprayed her name on that wall. Small world!

Hello, Beachers.....first time at the computer today. Got home from visiting sis, straightened up the house, and now it is time to get ready for Buffalo Wild Wings as soon as hubs gets home....which will be at any minute.

That's kind of neat!!!

I keep thinking I'm gonna find some stashed money when I'm remodeling but nope! I just find wasp nest, snake skins and mouse poop! When I closed off a doorway in the other part of the house I put my name, the date on an envelope and put a dollar in it so if someone someday opens up that wall...they'll find some money! I'm doing that with these walls too!

And now you know who painted the floor pink. Maybe you should get her over to sand it off. She's retired now, so she has the time.

No chit! She needs to get her 67 year old azzzzzz over here and do that!

Have you watched that one? I thought it was probably the best of the three, gave me several chuckles anyway
One thing is for sure the Alien's versus the Predator was bad bad bad

Don't think I've ever tried Zatarain's rice, we do have it around here tho' I'm not big on rice, fried rice is about the only way I eat it anymore. Ate it with butter and sugar as a child.
