My keyboard is over 7 years old, still works great, but I took it apart and cleaned it a couple of years ago.
usually mac's hardware is expensive than pc ,about the software it depends on your friends

My keyboards usually last me about 6 months. I did successfully clean one though. Think I'll try that again, before tossing it.

Agree it is unanimous. My keyboard is only 10mos old though. I've never had a keyboard fail. I've typed the letters off of them, but never had them foul like it is. It is an Asus keyboard. Not too long ago, I had a monitor burn out on me. They just make cheap plastic products now. irritating.

Nope, this one has seen heavy use, NCC. I guess they just forgot to put the expiration time chip in it. LOL
These are coming up a lot more often now. It apparently takes bandwidth from the originator's site, so there is a "disappear" function (plugin) than can be added to a graphic to make it disappear after so long. OR, in my case, I had a rude comment pop up in place of the photo.
Some one told me to try cleaning my old one in the dishwasher. I said what the hey and gave it a try.
Still haven't used it to see if it did any good but BOY IT LOOKS CLEAN!

My 12 year old MS ergo just died, so i'm on a 12 year old Dell that came with the puter. And I beat them too.
I don't trust that brand, though they're ALL made at the same factories in China. The difference comes down to QC.
Do I know my prices or what?

You still haven't tried it? Do make sure it's dry though.
