Yes I would agree I just meant getting a 3 ohm dual coil atomizer wouldn't be very good. Although your battery may like it better :p

Copy that.

I find the 1.6 dual coil to be an over performer at 3.7 v; vapor is warm enough to burn tongue.
I do like it; just move my tongue.

I would imagine you could increase the resistance enough to satisfy a wimpy batt while at the same time producing good vapor.

Maybe one day I'll buy a 2.5ohm dual coil just to try at 3.7v.

I disagree. I have disassembled several Automatic/Manual batteries and they all are very isolated. I could drip fluid into the hole and nothing would happen. Other than reducing the pressure required to trip the automatic battery. The thing that will really kill the battery is over loading it. Or over draining it. The chips inside should be designed to regulate that but often they do not.

Increasing the voltage just increase the wattage on the coil. This can damage the atty and reduce its life span. I would avoid this if at all possible.(Speaking form experience)

Wrong. The auto batteries are NOT sealed. The juice dripped into an atty will eventually get to the battery compartment and gums up the sensor switch which activates the battery. There have only been about 1000+ posts on ECF alone supporting this problem.

I just ordered a jazz cartopipe cuz I like feel of a pipe not a pipe boomba..lol.

I fell in love with one of those the moment I saw it. I joked to my wife that she'd kill me if I ordered that too since I'd only gotten my Provari a few days prior. She said I can have one for my birthday. Woot!

Just waiting for here when they get the cherry red back in stock and they order's going in!

I just wanted to put 1 post saying I have been direct dripping since 2009 in M401 auto batt and PT w/o a single flooding related problem.

I have flushed gunk out of M40x batt and PT several times w/ a few drops PGA.

I dropped M401 in water for couple seconds and it still worked.

My direct dripped M401 PT must have a thousand miles on it and its still ticking.

On a side note...I would like to mention that I experienced batt failure due to direct dripping on a 2008 model RN-4081.
I continued to direct drip RN-4081 w/ tip up and had still had good success.

I direct dripped 510 auto batt for months till batt started getting weak; kept tip up..

When carefully direct dripping auto RN-4081 and auto 510 I had good success.
I have flooded M40x auto batt countless times and still ticking..

I'm sure it is possible to drip on an auto IF you are careful but you are definitely the exception to the rule based on all the posts over the last two years of dying auto batteries from dripping. Actually not just dripping but just liquid from carts leaking into the battery compartment, sitting there over night and killing the switch.

All the automatic batteries i took apart had a plastic washer between the microphone and the base of the electrical connector for the battery. Then below that was the battery it self sealed up in foil and then finally was the electronics and the bottom cap. so yes juice could get into the compartment and maybe get on top of the microphone but it would not destroy it. you might need a piece of paper towel to soak it up (which I did whenever it happened which was not that often.
The only real consequence of this was the microphone would become far more sensitive and would not shut off but as soon as you soaked up the fluid it worked again. So I really do not see what your are complaining about?
Maybe they were older batteries which were not built this way. If this is the case i am sorry for any confusion.....

A REOGrand with a dual coil cartomizer is the biggest vapor producer I have owned
REO mods
SMOKtech 510 Dual Coil Mega Cartomizers @COV

Since I have never purchased one how hard is it to refill the cartomizers? I hated the carts because they never seemed to work right with thick juices or they would flood because the juice was not thick enough(Causing flooding)....... Is this a similar problem with cartomizers?

Even if there are auto batteries that are built better than the ones that got gunked up all the time from liquid, why would anyone want to go through the process you described???? That's just a royal PIA especially when manuals are easier to vape, much more control, better hit and no need to do any "sopping up" of liquid.

I 100% agree that is why I switched over to manual batteries(Then built my own manual batteries). I mean it would happen maybe 2 times a day but that is too much effort but if your new to this (as the person in this thread said they were) the next step in my mind was to try dripping and decide if they wanted to go all manual and all dripping all the time. This way that don't invest in a bunch of hardware they might not use.
Secondly this problem happened with the carts as well so it was not a dripping problem it was a general problem.....

I started with a Blu and went on to a Joye 510. Turns out that they are compatible (EXCEPT for the charger!) and I still use the Blu on occasion. I am happy to be a Joye 510, as it is wide spread (easy to find parts all over the internet and the brick and mortar stores), and is versatile, portable and not too intimidating for the non-vapers. One step up, the Ego seems to be OK as well.

Thanks again for all the advice and welth of info. Taking everything into acount I think I'm sold on the silver bullet over at altsmoke. Thats what i'm looking for, a big solid PV with a huge battery. Also you can change the voltage. The fact that it gets alot of praise around here makes me confident too. I'll still use my Blu's when Im out & maybe look into the joye 510 before I start modding around with the Blu and break it. The Omega looks cool to but like I said silver bullet wins. can I get a pass through for the S.B.? Sould I get one? and last question what is this 'throat hit' I keep hearing about?

Throat hit is the warm sometimes tingly feeling in the back of your throat when you take a hit. This is usually observed by comparing a analog cig to an ecig. where you usually get a strong throat hit form the hot nicotine soaked vapor hitting the back of your throat. There are two methods in my mind of getting a good throat hit A) nicotine content. This will determine how much throat hit you feel more often B) Wattage (usually viewed in terms of voltage) or the amount of energy put into the fluid vapor. In a non mechanical engineering standpoint this of this as how hot the vapor will be. Higher wattage = more energy transferred to vapor = hotter vapor. The hot vapor will hot the back of your throat more. I am not sure how electrically inclined you are but if you have an old usb cable you dont need cut the end off and strip back the wires. there should be 4 (Red, White, Green , Black) Take the Red and put it on the middle of the atty base and take the black and put it on the side and take a good drag (use a laptop/desktop usb port) You should experiences a more significant throat hit. OR You could buy a 5v passthrough :p

You can get massive vapor, massive TH and good flavor w/ a quality 3.7v PV.

You can control those variables w/ ohm ratings, cart design, nic level, etc.

If you are considering high end units at least take a look at carto epipes.

Much less likely to go out of fashion.

Frankly I'm embarrassed to use my big batt mod in public...I do love it though.
