I don't think you will see anything that compares to that. This was never about simply replacing nicotine with nicotine. If that is all you get out of smoking then none of us would experience quit smoking withdrawal symptoms when switching to vaping.

All those thousands of chemicals you get from smoking set up a complicated addiction process - including trace amounts of MAOI's (antidepressants) found in cigarette smoke. With time, the further you get away from a former smoking addiction the less "serious" what you get from plain nicotine in vaping becomes. So if you drop your nic level at this point and it's too much of a drop too soon - the end result will most likely be chain vaping to compensate for the lower nic level. But not a relapse into all the symptoms you experienced during quit smoking withdrawal.
That's good to know. I was not a happy person that 1st month, and I didn't want to see hubby and son suffer along with me.

Everyone is different. I started at 12mg and it was too much. I went to 6mg righ away and it was perfect. After a few months, I thought I was ready and went to 3mg. 3mg isn't enough for me (even in a dripper) so I went back to 6mg (even in a dripper).

I started my wife at 24, switched her to 12 without telling her and she didn't really notice. She maybe vaped a but more. She is also now at 6 and has been off the smokes for almost a month. She wasn't ready to quit smoking when I was (last Nov), but I would be suprised if she ever smokes again.

Beyond the getting away from smoking, vaping gives other things, too. The hobby for one. And there are a lot of directions to go in vaping for the enjoyment. People get into mechs, bottom-feeders, DIY, clouds, pipes, all kinds of things.

When I ride with others, there is a lot of stops for cigars, pipes...and vaping. There is a connection other than just stopping to see the "view".

I really feel comfortable in continuing to vape the way I do.

I will never support cigalikes from BT.

I DIY my own juice. My wife vaped 18mg for a year until I started cutting her nic back by 2mg with each new batch I made. I have reduced her nic levels without telling her. She's down to 10mg juice now and has never once noticed any change.

I started at 24mg which I vaped for about 6 months before starting to cut back. I'm now vaping 2mg juices and when I mix my next batches half of them will be 0 nic. I dropped 3mg at a time for a while and then slowed to 2mg at a time once I got down to 6mg. I never had any problems with the reductions.

Not everyone experiences quit smoking withdrawal the same way. For some people it seems easy, for some... not so much. Let's just say... I can relate. Even with 24 mg and 30 mg nic. I was still a strung out, no attention span, insomnia hot mess for those first 30 to 60 days. With headaches. BUT: Vaping was the only method that ever got me to the quit point and kept me there.

But it got better and it passed and - it was well worth it. :)

I was just thinking the same. :)

I think we quit smoking or joined here the same day or week. Both had lots of newbie questions and almost 7 months later... We are vaping experts.:D

My wife refused to vape until I dragged her to a vape expo. Turns out that she just likes flavours that I hate. Got her some grape, coffee and a few other flavours I think are putrid and she hasn't looked back!:)

I made a gradual change. I never just said "today I stop smoking". I spent months doing both smoking and vaping. Once I found a setup I liked and flavors that I really liked I started vaping more and more and smoking less and less. Eventually I hit the point where I would light a cigarette, take 2 or 3 puffs, and put it out because it just tasted nasty. I finally just stopped lighting them and vaped exclusively, but I still carried a half pack of smokes with me for a month before I finally tossed them.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Don't get me wrong I'm happy vaping, but it's been a hard adjustment, and you hear alot of happy posts, and yeah, its hard. I smoked for 22 yrs and I've been vaping for 8 months.

I had quite a few bad days in the first few months vaping. I was a dual user for 45 days and the first few days smoke free I am amazed I didn't break anything.

Same here basically. It took me three months to completely lose a 30 year 2 PAD smoking habit. Those people who chimed in with "The second I started vaping I never smoked another cigarette again!" Yeah - I wanted to reach out and hurt those people when I was switching.

The thing is, after years or decades of smoking we all have individual and some times complicated habits set up around smoking. Vaping easily knocked my 2 PAD habit down to about 10 butts a day, then to 6 or less, in the first week. But some of us need to pull apart that last thread of the addiction. For some of us we get lucky and smoking goes gross - so that helps a lot. Some people have a real connection to stress and smoking that they have to confront and learn that vaping can "work" just as well for that. For other people it's the connection to a cigarette right after a meal. And so on.

The bottom line is that if you have a sincere desire to quit smoking you will figure out how to do it with vaping.

I didn't break anything but my short term memory was shot to hell. I lost a credit card - in my own apartment - oddly enough, while ordering vape supplies. Still have no idea where the hell I put that credit card. For all I know it ended up in a tuna melt and I ate it.

You really do have to have the mind set to do it!

Memory, sleeping and my get up and go all suffered for a long while. The morning smokes were the last to go but the cravings in the evening were the worst. I spent 3 days chain vaping 24mg to the point I sent myself loopy.

2mg will likely not present any problem. I was worried dropping from 18mg to 12mg. My consumption went up a little, mostly Work Stress, but I quickly adapted. I have been dropping at 9mo-1yr intervals since, 3mg at a time and am at 3mg now. I also do some 1mg Mixes for pure Vaping pleasure(Deserts :D)
If I drop any lower, I'll have a 100yr. supply:oops:

Don't be too worried about dropping your nic level. You can take it down when you feel ready. You can give anything a try whenever you feel ready. And if it doesn't do it for you, there's no shame in going back up. I've found when dropping nicotine, you might feel a little dissatisfied for the first couple of days, but you'll get used to it.

But like I said, I wouldn't be super worried about it. The whole point is to stay of cigarettes. If it takes staying at 18mg for however long, so be it. Personally I've bounced around all sorts of nic levels through the entire time I've been vaping. Started at 16mg (I know. It's not standard, but that's what the company I started with was making). Ended up at 18mg not long after that. This was back when I was using something like a cig-a-like. Got a VV mod (one of the early ones. 6 volt capability was a big thing at the time) after that and dropped to 12mg. Then 6. Broke the VV, broke a couple VVs actually. They were pretty fragile back then; back to the cig-a-likes and back to 18mg. Then I went to mech mods and dropped to 6. Ditched the mech mods for simplicity, a couple Itaste sticks. Back up to 12, and then 18. Bounced around 12, and 18 for a while, and was at 6 for a short period of time. Now I have a Coolfire IV and a Dripbox. I usually use between 3 and 6 depending on what sort of build I have, and time of day. Higher in the morning and around the afternoon hump, lower for maintenance and right before bed.

Unless you have an unhealthy cardiovascular system, it shouldn't be much of a worry for you. Just go as your body will let you. It's not a race.

I started with 36mg juice in Protanks and Protank 2s. Within a month or two, I started rebuilding the PT coils and then started on RTAs. As the devices improved, I first dropped to 24mg, then to 12mg. By the time I was 3 months in, I starting dripping. That took me to 6mg and there I stayed for nearly a year until I got my first subtank. That pushed me down to 3mg. At every step it was never a plan that made me drop nic level, I went by if my normal vaping led me to dizziness from too much nic. That is the best indicator that a level needed to drop for me. But YMMV.
