I used to do mouth-to-lung inhales when I smoked my ryo tobacco. I don't think I've ever seen any smoker take direct-lung hits. But I'll pay more attention from now on... Now that I vape, I've tried various methods (also thanks to this thread

). I prefer mouth-to-lung, sometimes exhaling through my nose. Direct lung-hits mute the flavour and make me cough. The clouds are nice though, but I don't use this method much.
Direct exhales through my nose (without inhaling first) are rough! It tingles my nose, but if I really need a nic-hit, that's how I do it. For throathit, I like to draw vapour into my mouth, then a quick and shallow inhale, followed by a slow exhale through my nose. This technique gives a lot of flavour as well.
The technique described by Taowulf was new to me, so I tried it. I have to agree, the flavour is great that way. But the throathit is too much, even for me (I use 12mg / ml). Perhaps I may have finally found a way to reduce my nic, I will experiment further. But, thank you Taowulf! You taught a vaper of 16 months something new
I uses to lung inhale with analogs (almost 20 years!), but vaping is usually closer to how I smoked cigars. Take the vapor into my mouth, inhale (mostly) air into my lungs through my nose, then exhale through my nose. The flavors really come out for me that way when vaping. Especially as my sense of smell and taste still have a way to go to be close to normal as I only stopped analogs two weeks ago. It is weird to try to describe something I don't even usually think about.
