Personally, I am doing a study and just ask people not to bother the dust as we are doing a study and don't want to have to start over after all these years of work!

My house doesn't always look like this... sometimes it's worse!

Bobbi!!! You just made post #33,000!!!

Congratulations Bobbi, on post #33,000!!! :)

Not here, hon. I'm in Central Louisiana. We were in the 80's today, and it's about 75o out now.

Don't wanna work cows down there though, I had a friend went down there for a few months. Said they didn't use a horse trailer, just put em on a flat boat. He said it was ok, til they were swimming the cows back and the gators started taking calves... Don't want to fight for them when I'm ready to gather and brand!

So instead we have 10 degrees out there and are feeding hay and cake every day. Some days you wonder about the choices you've made... then you see a new calf or colt and remember it all... or the joy in the kids eyes when they get to help Poppa feeding, or feed the minis by hand... or a bunch of other "little" things!

When Marie Antoinette said "Let them eat cake," I didn't think she was talking about farm animals.

No, we don't have alligators here. At least not to any real extent. That's mostly in the swamplands and bayous in the southern areas. However, it's still a vastly different area. Home is where the heart is. My heart is a bit scattered now, but this is home.

Ok, well I'm glad it makes you so happy... I guess... View attachment 279733

He's pretty easy to impress Dale....

Easy to impress? Maybe. That depends, I guess. We just like to celebrate round numbers with Fireworks over on my thread. It was a tradition there before I took over, and I still enjoy it.

I know how that home is where thing is!

Cake is a compressed hay with grain, vitamins, suppliments and minerals to increase the protein during cold months when they need a little extra. The hay gives the extra bulk that isn't there as they eat off the grass from the summer. Always fun to watch peoples faces when you tell them you feed the cows cake! :)

Ok, I understand now. I'll have to pay more attention to the numbers I guess.
