I actually had a dog like this. In addition to the above, he would bark the whole time we were gone (except for that period of time he spent destroying the couch)

Years ago, I had one so bad, I decided leaving him alone wasn't an option, so decided just to take him along & leave him in the car. Lost the entire driver's side interior panel.....

We had a mutt terrier mix that ate a hole through our sofa ... you could look down through there & see the floor..........
boy, we had a love/hate relationship with that dog!

I just wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and kind words both here & on Deej's thread. As I said over there, it amazes me still the kindness of folks you haven't met. The vet said her heart stopped fast, which meant she was ready. She whined on the way there though... I hated stressing her like that. I gave her something to calm her before leaving, but it didn't help much.

My mom wanted to meet me at the vet's, so she could take me to lunch/dinner afterwards. We ate breakfast food (yes, including bacon - sorry don't feel like getting too excited about it atm lol). I'm way full now - we split an avocado/tomato omelet and some pancakes. The food was awesome, and got my mind off of things for a bit as we chatted. It was nice.

But now I'm home to my empty room...
